How are beta testers selected, anyhow? I've never seen any indication that it's something you sign up for.

They release around 100 hamsters into a closed area and what ever name they sit on that person is picked.

I think that the reason they don't let PC users beta test is that it would inevitably lead to people releasing the content to torrent sites, etc.

I remember seing screenshots of Dawguard running on PC before it was even out of the Xbox beta.

Considering PC users have tools like the console and the editor, they have a better chance to catch bugs that slipped past QA.

It looks like I'll be waiting for the first patch post Dragonborn (v1.9) before buying... The way the beta of Dawnguard was handled made me loose confidence in how this initiative was planned and executed.

There already was one. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1421685-dragonborn-beta/page__p__21762617#entry21762617

After people had a few problems, and apparently hadn't read the email they recieved, there were threads made:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1421685-dragonborn-beta/

The beta is a closed one, and discussing it if you are in the beta is probably a bad idea.
