it seems like I read somewhere that it was added with this dlc is that true? if so where? I rember oblvion got alot of heat for it icause it was payed and only had 2 types but in general I thought the idea was sweat.

You must be new to the "Horse armor" joke rumor, it happens everytime Bethesda releases a DLC for a TES game since that joke of a horse armor dlc for Oblivion

There's no horse armor it was probably just a troll. You do get the ability to summon a horse though. Also there's Armored Trolls that you can buy,

If your looking for the dogs with armor.. there are two huskeys that will join you in dawnguard castle. You can find them in the pits of the left of the entry next to the armored trolls.
