Um Glowing eyes.....arn't they saying, "THIS IS A VAMPIR

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:33 pm

I just don't get it, sure the glowing eyes look cool, but if you think about it, it makes no sense that many people around you don't know your a vampire. When you start the quest for dawnguard and come in contact with them, even if your a vampire, they won't notice.

I think that was one of the benefits to the old vampire eyes, that they wern't as noticable.

What do you think? Do you find it hard to believe that the people that would kill vamps on sight don't notice your glowing eyes?

Even talking to other NPC's who arn't dawnguard, they should show fear that you have glowing eyes.

Well I assume that vampires are masters of illusion, so they can easily manipulate people. People see those eyes but don't acknowledge that.

Generally Vampires ARE known to have magical powers, so it makes since that they use trickery or some sort of magic to trick everyone else.

That could work, except it doesn't solve certain issues. For example, the player will continue to see the new eyes even when not a vampire. I imagine a spell like that has to be cast on specific targets, and as a result 1) would make that person stand out as they continuously cast the same spell over and over, 2) wouldn't work on anyone the vampire didn't notice, instantly broadcasting their undead status, and 3) would still cause a number of ships to run aground thinking they were being guided in by a lighthouse.

Just play as a Khajiit. Their eyes don't glow at all. I was pretty bummed about this. At least their iris or pupil or whatever you wanna call the slits in their eyes should glow. It would be so badass.

I guess it does make you look like a vampire. But I like them. So no it doesn't bother me that the NPC's don't notice.

I am bummed we are forced to have those eyes. We should of had a facial changing NPC in Castle Volkihar that changes vampire apperance. That way we can go back to having our regular eyes while others can enjoy those big bright eyes.

Eh, I'm fine with the eyes and having a good laugh that no one seems to be taking the cues that I'm a vampire, even at stage 4.

"Oh hey, Isran...Yeah, just coming by, checking out the Dawnguard, and totally not sizing you up in case you come for me, because I'm totally not a vampire... Oh? Free crossbow? Why thank you, don't mind if I do...So, how are things? So bad a vampire could just walk in, eh? You don't say. That would be something wouldn't it? So hey, I'll go lend that Vigilant guy who just left a hand...and, we'll do lunch, alright? Alright."

How about the fact that the Stendar don't attack you?

But.... but... giving the vampires the ability to change their appearance, a feature added into a DLC that heavily features vampires, that doesn't even begin to make sense, does it?

Makes me imagine this scenario:

A vampire and a Vigilant of Stendarr meet on the road. The Vigilant of Stendarr looks at the vampire and says

"Walk always in the light, or we will drag you into it...

Unless of course, ya know... You don't feel like it. It's cool. The light's not for everyone. You like the night life. You like to boogie. We get it. Ain't no big thing. See you later."

*Vigilant walks 30 feet and turns around*

"PEACE OUT!"

The light emanating from the eyes of vampires is not in the visible light spectrum, it is very slightly below in the infrared. Only certain creatures, including dragons and their ilk (like the Dovahkin) can see the glow...
...or something
