Realizing Race

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:29 pm

Hello all,

I have just started the Civil war quest-line and i am a lvl 46 Nord, now i have noticed this before but i didnt think much of it until now. Some NPC's dont realize your a Nord and think your a diffrent race...for instance when i walked into Windhelm for the first time i talked to one of the NPC's about who should be allowed into windhelm, and he said "Foreigner's like yourself should be allowed in skyrim like any nord." Or somthing along those lines like i wasnt a nord. Then Galmar for the Civil war quest-line asked "Why would an outsider like you want to fight for Skyrim?" also suggesting that im not a nord..This isnt a game crippling glitch but its slightly annoying. Just hoping this gets fixed soon and im not sure if the same is happening if your anything other than a nord and they are suggesting that your somthing else.

Thanks,

Well, if you are a Redguard, Amren in Whiterun should have a unique dialogue option, but the game doesn't calculate that, making him sees you like a non-Redguard.

It might be a little frustrating but I don't think it will ever be 'fixed'.

Thats strange. Skyrim NPC's, for me at least, all ways seem to point out my character is Imperial ( which he is ) Theres even some unique dialog. Like the one lady inside the alchemy shop in white run will talk about Imperial's home land of Cyrodil and some angry drunk Nords pissed about the war call my Imperial derogatory names.

Are you a vampire? Because I think the game changes your race when you become one to that of a vampire. I'm not entirely sure, however.

as far as i know Galmar always calls you an Outlander even if you are a Nord. Because you kind of are a Foreigner, regarldess of Race. If youre a different Race than nord he will infact not say "Foreigner" but some racial slur along the lines of "lizard" for argonians for example.

Works fine. You are a foreigner. The pc was, most probably, born in a different province. That alone make you an outlander.

I am a VL and some NPC's do recognize me as a Nord and with Galmar maybe he has always called you a outlander and maybe i just never put any thought into it, either way thanks for all the info.
