Depends on what exactly the problem is. You can't automatically assume that just because a piece of software doesn't work, it is automatically it's fault. (Though, be that a logical deduction) From what I gathered by doing some Boogeling, not every ATI user is affected, and it may stem from a driver issue for ATI cards, in which case it would be up to ATI to fix, not Arkane.

One of the computers I run it on is an ATI 4550 and I manage with it. Is yours up to date? What are your ingame settings? What are your other computer specs? Specifically, how is it not running. Is it not loading at all, crashing, lag, tearing, not loading textures etc etc?

Dishonored seems to be a very well optimized game. Runs great on my laptop at 1920x1080 with AMD 5830 mobile graphics card, using FXAA and everything else maxed.

If you have the desktop 6770 card, it should run even better on your PC. Perhaps you are having a problem with your drivers? Which AMD driver version do you have installed?

The game runs well on my Radeon 6670, except for some initial stutter that happens at the beginning after the game loads, but it only lasts for a second or so and then play fine.

I have the stutter freddo mentioned also I get some vertical tearing no matter what I try it persists. Missing Textures at distance(for instance the back wall of the dockhouse after the intro boat ride when coming back down the stairs from where the princess stands) as well. >.<

Temps are low for gaming tried 12.1, 12.3 12.6 12.8, 12.10 drivers.

have you tried 12.11? alternatively, have you tried rolling back to an older driver?

what are your computer stats?

What version of directX have you got?

have you edited any .ini files?

have you verified game cache?

what is the games mem usage when playing? (If possible can you see what the it is when tearing occurs?)

is downsampling an option to check out?

playing hundred questions to get an idea of what's up

Have tried drivers 12.1, 12.3, 12.6, 12.8. 12.10 and the 12.11 beta so yes

Specs are in my sig

Direct X is up to date in fact I ran the installers again inside the steamapp/common/dishonored directory to ensure they installed clean(on my laptop atm I will post a dxdiag when I get home)

I have tried editing .ini and tried with a totally vanilla .ini no difference in the tearing I can reduce some stutter in game by lowering the max fps to 60 in the config but it does nothing for tearing neither does 59 or 40 or 31.....min being 30 by default.

I have verified the cache

System RAM usage is never above 25% which is 4GB on my rig
VRAM usage is laughable and nowhere near max

I have tried even the lowest resolution and lowest fov even in windowed mode and in fullscreen with and without vsync even with triple buffering enabled via ccc and vsync foreced on and it still persists.

I should add my temps are well below normal gaming temps I have no OC CPU or GPU and I can assure you my hardware is not damaged in any way. System can handle any stress test and has never blue screened not once.

Wow how odd. Have you done a game reinstall? It does sound like something could be up with your version of the game considering everything else looks alright. (retail? digital?) If you do go ahead with a reinstall, after uninstall run through with ccleaner then reinstall. (have the saves backed up! :)

Have you checked the cables for your ASUS? As in, any of them bent or damaged which could interrupt the data flow? I'd also suggest unplugging them and giving a quick blow to remove any dust

Any device updates for the ASUS? As it's a 24', does putting it up to 1920x1200 change anything?
Device Manager > PnP Monitor >Update driver

Alternatively, do you think this fix could work for you?

sorry i can't help anymore :( i'm not with my computer right now to compare, although you have better specs so I'm not sure why stuttering on you :(

I appreciate your input but ya all that stuff has been eliminated...I get tearing without v sync on @1920x1080 60hz in pretty much any game but enabling it always solves it. I even tried my monitor overdrive as well as disabling it and trying the one in ccc neither helped. I will take a look over that thread though thanks again. I am hoping a driver update or a patch solves it or at least someone smarter than me comes up with something...fella on another forum has similar issue.

Edit: I have a steam copy so it is digital sorry forgot to answer that and yes I tried a complete reinstall wiped all saves(I wasn't out of the first mission) reverted all options to default, generated a fresh .ini synced them to the cloud (deep breath) then opened steam back up uninstalled the game closed it back out. Delete the Dishonored folder in documents/mygames ....uninstalled physx and ran ccleaner. Rebooted and did a reinstall but the issue persisted so I am sure it wasn't a bad install.

I can pretty much eliminate all the stutter with exception to right after a load until I spin the camera 360 degrees by clamping fps down but the tearing occurs no matter what and its not the usual horizontal offset tearing.....say I am rounding a corner that corner will have a blue and white line(strangely the same color scheme my desktop has) along the edge of the corner....or if I am coming through a door the area of the scene being rendered will tear with the same blue and white briefly. It is very immersion breaking and thus I have not made it past the first mission. I also get missing wall(back wall of the boat house when looking back from the stairs near the empress in the intro part at distance but it was only just the one and I did have my .ini set to stock at the moment so it could be the horrendous default 4x AF or some other terrible texture streaming aspect of the code.
