Piero's "Door to Nowhere"

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:47 am

Right before the first mission, after obtaining my powers I noticed a note in Piero's lab, by the door with the portal shaped paint. It goes on to explain how he believes he can create a doorway that will allow you to cover large distances, but this technology is years away. He also says if he survives the plague it is sure to succeed.

What do you think this is? I'm assuming its going to be how we access future DLC, in distant lands

Considering Piero actually survives (I think), I guess it could be a future DLC. I haven't put much thought into it though.

This is my 2nd playthrough and I'm just noticing it now. I just find it interesting since it doesn't mention it at all later in the game (I think). Which is why I assume its for DLC access

That's what I thought, too :P But then again, nowadays anytime someone mentions a portal I always think of the game...

Before discovering that the few powers shown on the powers menu were really all there were, I had hoped there would be a way of getting through those doorways... Or maybe even those "white" walls that are around there. But no.
I haven't found that note yet myself, but yeah does sound like a Portal reference.

Spoiler
Its a secret boss battle. If you take granny rags cameo charm without burning it, you can use it at the door to activate it. It leads to a battlefield that is trapped in stop time. And you fight the outsider there.

Perhaps Perio is the true inventor or the portal gun, but his first attempt at creating it hurled him into the future! He then landed in one of Apertures testing champers, made some quick adjustments to his prototype portal gun then used it to beat the testing course! Astonished by this Cave Johnson offered Perio food and shelter in exchange for his mind!
