Am I the only one itching for a sequel?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:34 am

I know it is early days. Well very early days. Especially if you live in the UK like me, but I can't stop thinking about this game. The ending ties up everything really well and as much as I loved the end I almost wish it had been a bit more open ended.

It was a great, rounded up conclusion to the story which worried me before I relised there was no conclusion for the Outsider. Which leaves me more then a little exited :D

So what do you think? No sequel at all? Sequel where you carry on as Corvo (as the last conversation you had with the outsider could end with him saying you fascinate him.) Or a sequel with someone new who is gifted the outsiders mark?

I know the game developers are already starting to think about a sequel, and even though its not definate I really hope there is a sequel for Corvo (even though thats the most unlikely option)

I figured if the game does well they'd just make a new one with a new main char and change the powers instead of adding and change a bunch of other things and the sequel wouldn't be as good as the original as usual. Figure they screw with the art style too and make the graphics better while giving up some of the story as seems to be the trend lately too. That's saying something too considering it's an action rpg and the story isn't that deep.

The game lacks a lot of things and has a lot of issues, so I want a DLC that fixes those and maybe then a sequel. But at the moment, no, no thank you.

No way, the world Arkane created is amazing and has way too much potential.

Also I would prefer a new character who is marked

The obvious solution for any Sequel is that sometime in the future, the Outsider gives him mark to SOME OTHER poor schlub and they end up receiving the Mask. The mask is tailor made for IP identification, really, and given it's a product of the Outsider's influence there's no problem in using it for someone else.

However, honestly, I'd like to see Corvo again.

Corvo is shipwrecked on the continent after someone kidnaps his daughter (with Callista) or something.

I would just like to see another game set in the same world as Dishonored.

I would like more Dishonored games doesn't necessarily have to be Corvo or take place after the first one, I just want it in the same world.

Personally I really want to play as Daud before he killed the empress.

The world is fascinating and complex. I'd love to see more of it.... perhaps other continents, other cities....

I wouldn't say "no" to more Corvo, but it doesn't *have* to be about him.

Nah, no sequels. Really, the plot itself is by far enough. We don't want some far-stretched plot like Taken 2. On the other hand, Bioshock 2 managed to create a sequel with no direct links to the first game, except for Rapture itself.

However, the world of Dishonored is huge, as we can see on various maps. The Isles are very small in comparison to Pandyssia, and Dunwall is just one city on the south coast of one of them four isles!
There is also some nice background, with a lot we learned of by listening to conversations or reading books. Order of women branching from the Abbey, other cities, the mines in which the pendleton brothers are sent, Daud's background. There is much to do.

It should be known that Arx Fatalis had some nice lore, too, in his time, and a sequel would have been quite possible. They never did one. I guess Bethesda will urge them to do sequel(s) to Dishonored, but it doesn't look like the kind of thing Arkane do.

Corvo is shipwrecked on the continent after someone kidnaps his daughter (with Callista) or something.
The game sooo strongly implies that Emily is actually his daughter, that I don't think they would ever give a clear answer to that... Certainly not by giving him another one :P

They should make a sequel if this game is successful. Not making another game set in the same world as Dishonored would be like throwing gold in the trash.

Why would him marrying and having other children affect his relationship with Emily?

Not having more stories from the world of Dishonored would be like only eating the frosting off a wedding cake.
