You are welcome.

The Martian Buddy advertising e-mails in the PDAs in Doom3 BFG carry the code in the topic line.
It's so right in your face that nobody seems to have taken notice yet.

Showing some prejudice there are we? It's not as if going to a website to get the code was particularly difficult in the old days. And the novelty does wear off after the first time anyway.

Was a nice joke in 2004 that this website really existed. It's 2012 now. Nuff said.

Btw.: I don't know where this pc elitism over difficulty comes from.
Console games are usually more difficult than pc games.
No mouse, no keyboard, no configuration options for the controls, quicksaving wherever you want to is an exception and no cheating as cheats prevent achievements/trophies and drop down consoles to enter them are only available in pc games.
PC games where always easier to beat and this hasn't changed to this very day.

And Call of Duty has it's roots on pc....

Hell, it even existed in 2011, when I was playing DOOM 3 last time. It was really awesome.

COD betrayed its roots long ago. Starting with COD 3.

It's a long time since I checked for it because that particular code is almost burned into my brain by now, but I do have fond memories from 2004 of going to the site using the browser on an old mobile phone I had at the time because I couldn't bear to leave the game. :)

Yup, but this has nothing to do with the target platform.
Gamedesigns have changed over the years from hardcoe to casual gamers on all systems.

I played some japanese games on consoles in the 90s that were so brutally difficult it was almost gamebraking.
Compared to those, Doom3 2004 nightmare mode was easy to handle.

Thanks.

I guess that's the closest we will get to the real thing unless BETHESDA resets the original web page. I hope they do. I always liked looking at the counter on that page.

I play only the original version and I do not remember any PDF ads with the code.

Because it's new in the BFG.
Seems like taking the original martianbuddy.com offline was planned before releasing the BFG edition.

I don't agree.

I like Medal of Honor Allied Assault (Infinity Ward before they were IW)
Call of Duty 1 (PC version)
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 4 MW1 and 2

And thats it. Treyarch CoD games always were inferior to IW's and Modern Warfare 3 wasn't even the REAL Infinity Ward.

That's the true Infinity Ward's new studio and I'll be keeping an eye on their new project.

I don't agree. On the contrary I think Treyarch CODs are absolutely superior to IW any day. They're way more innovative, better concepts and truly try to keep the game fresh. Theres always a new flavor to their COD's. IW produced standard WWII and Modern Warfare three times (lololol)

Also the absence of 2 guys does not mean "it's not the real IW".

Go Treyarch!
