Kaldwin's Bridge Side Mission Blows Ghost?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:07 am

My Clean Hands was already ruined by someone dying at the Golden Cat. I go to help a Thug who I know was caught by the Watch, and is buddies with two other guys who've stolen pearls. I still decide to help him out. It goes immediately hostile once the quest completes if I stick around. However, if I let the quest run its course without following him into the doorway, I don't see the red icons. They still go hostile in theory since they're all looking for me, but I never actually trigger Hostile...or did I?

I could use your help forumites. Did anyone do this quest successfully and complete Ghost? If my workaround works, all three will be distracted looking for me and I can take their pearl stash without getting caught once I employ a couple careful Blinks. Please respond as soon as you can if you can with proper information. Thanks.

Reload when he turns hostile to get a feel for when it happens. Then this time blink around a corner and stealth the second before he turns hostile. Then go around, choke him, and lay him down somewhere. Im pretty sure this completed for me then (And I got clean hands, shadow, ghost). But even if it doesent complete it doesent matter.

Side quest completion dont seem to have an effect on achievements or anything else really.

Yeah I think I figured out how to do this still non-lethal (even though CH is ****canned). There's a moment where you can let the quest complete, then choke the Judas out (no offense :P). Stow him on a metal rafter. Go inside and sleep dart one of the two dudes. The other will shoot to 3 lines but not go hostile. Wait for him to stop looking for you, 1 line intact over his head. Opportune moment, choke out and steal the pearls.

I know it's not necessary but I wanted to figure it out somehow. Thanks for your help :)

np :)

Btw when guards are nestled together tightly you can use posession rank 2 to walk an enemy into a safe room or alley. When you exit posession the target is stunned and you always appear BEHIND him, so you can then stealth KO safely. This is good for guards leaning towards walls, stationary guards and some encounters like gentleman callers. WHen you possess guards you can also walk past arc pylons and through walls of light.

No power play-through except one Blink this time around, but I'm looking forward to future play-throughs to expand my toolbox. It should be a lot of fun!

I'm doing all of that, on the hardest difficulty. To start with I wasn't enjoying it as I couldn't determine why I was either being seen or having a death recorded. Once I did a bit of reading online I got a better feel for how to approach each level.

It's a great deal of fun now.

Wait a minute... are you talking about the thugs waiting around at the gate *just* at the bridge? Those guys aggro me the very second they see me even after I wait to hear about the whole "pearls" thing. They have a side quest associated with them?!

Just one of them, the others are hostiles nomatter what. But one thug is trying to get to them. (Hence gives the quest. However I didnt get any reward worth mentioning. You can loot the house regardless of the quest. So this quest doesent seem to have any purpose except for the "fun")

I was finally dragged away from playing. Yeah I was going for all those in one go, but the mission before the Bridge I registered one hostile killed. Decided Clean Hands could wait, but I'm still hoping for the others. Have my own little added challenge in that I haven't upgraded anything, powers or weapons but it's on Normal so it balances out. I'll do this challenge again on Very Hard one day but I can't even finish this play-through so I don't know when that will happen.

There's no direct reward for doing the mission, but in the course of going through the mission you need to kill five river krusts (who are exempt from Clean Hands) and each one drops a pearl worth 50 coins. Not sure what it would take to get them to generate the 100 coin ones. I'm trying to get every bit of loot, but it was too much hassle to deal with some of the guards at the beginning of the Bridge area.

Had to stop at freeing the guys behind the Wall of Light. So close to finishing this mission but can't unless I get lucky with some time later in the evening.

Just leave them be, and hang out on the rooftops. After a few moments, they'll decide it's time to attempt to break their pal out, and get into a fight with the watch. They're just there to give you a heads up that there's a prisoner up ahead. You're not supposed to interact with them.
