Steward Decoration Question

How long does it take for your steward to decorate your house when you purchase the decorations for a room?

I think it depends on the steward, after all the problems I have been reading about that subject. The only one I have asked to do furnishing is my current character and steward, Golldir. He did my entryway in I think about 5 to 7 game days, pieces at a time. Not bad from what I have read, but that was only one room!

I agree, but in the entryway having the steward do it is the only way to get the nice bench, a large mat in front of the door, and a couple of nice rugs. Don't know what's up with that, but if you don't care about those just build stuff yourself.

I haven't had my steward build anything yet, but from what I've heard, they love to put animal heads all over your walls.

As long as they like, does not seem to be a set time, few days minimum.

Stewards will put in everything there is an option to make, including trophies heads on the walls. IMO, there is overcrowding if everything is built or furnished! I made all my own trophies. I like the bears, sabrecat, wolf and elk heads (I am a Nord after all, lol). I even eventually put up a mounted mudcrab (they're small ones) and a slaughterfish, to fill in a couple blank spots on walls, but I drew the line at mounted goat heads and horker heads! Horkers are ugly, and the goat heads just look like a terrified barnyard animal!

To me, if you let the steward furnish your house, it will look exactly like everyone else's, and there is enough of that already that we can't help.

I've done it many many times already, so at this point I just want it to be done so I can get back to adventuring.

So there's no fixed time? No formula or anything? I notice that it seems to happen faster if I put in a few things myself.

There does not appear to be, by any info I've found. (or not found!)

Every time I have a steward furnish the entry way, i get that annoying merged wall hanging above the right shelf as you face into the main hall.

Through trial and effort, I think my favorite way to go is to fully furnish the small house and then convert it to an entry way which I furnish myself. The 2 times I've done this, the end table from the small house stays were the bench would go. You miss out on the big floor mat, but I prefer the extra non-barrel storage.

I've built three houses. I'm getting ready to start building a fourth. I'm having a steward decorate everything. I can't take anymore goat and deer hunting. They KNOW when I'm getting ready to shoot them with my crossbow. They know, and they have fully organized retreat plans including sicking their bear and wolf friends on me.

If your steward does it do you still need any supplies or do you just give him money and he gets all the wood and nails and stuff.

Just hand over the gold, he gets it all.

Edit: I didn't get the merged hanging, thankfully!

Me too, I like building and placing what I want. When the steward furnishes, you get absolutely everything there is an option for, and it way too cluttered and crowded! My current character is the only one to ask the steward to furnish, and that was only the entryway in Heljarchen. I wanted the bench and rugs at least once.
