A little assistance needed

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:09 am

I just got Hearthfire and began the building process. I'm wondering do you always have to start with just a small little house before you can build on and make it larger? Also, I'm in need of nails as well as other raw materials, do I buy these from blacksmiths, create them or both? I'm sure I'll have many more questions but that is all for now.

yes you start with the small house... you make you own nails ( need a lot of iron ingots) buy straw, glass, and goat horns from a general goods trader.
Wood from a mill untill you have a steward. clay and stone u digup at the work site

Thank you, good sir.

I wanted to check and make sure that's how the process goes before I ended up building a tiny cabin and get stuck with that.

Another question. When are you able to add on? Is it after you've built the walls and everything for the small area house?

Also, where is the quarry stone? I know it's around the work site but I only see the clay deposits.

Nevermind the second part.

You are able to add on to your small house right away as soon as it's built. You just go back to the drafting table and add. Reading the book on the workbench is helpful, it describes all the rooms/wings that will be available once you build the main hall.

Ah, very good. Thanks to the both of you. Buidling homes is a tad more difficult than I expected it to be, but it's still fun nonetheless.
