vampirewarewolf hybrid...not as good as it sounds

Somewhere along the way while clearing a dungeon (Dawngaurd mission), I contracted vampirisim. I took the cure disease potion and all was fine, or so I thought. By the time I got out of the cave I discovered that I was a level 2 vampire. I immediately went to see falion (I used him to cure me one previous time) and there was no option for him to help. Luckily I hadn't done the companions missions yet so I did all of their tasks to become a werewolf. Once I completed this I went outdoors in beast form and my vampire blood started boiling... After countless attempts to cure through falion (including asking every shopkeeper of rumors to try and retrigger the option with him), and trying to recontract vampirism to possibly correct the script, I am now stuck on level 2 vampire and a lycan. My vampirism won't get any worse but with -50% fire resistance and reduced attributes in sun, I'm having trouble defeating easy dragons or any other fire wielding foe as a level 49...HELP...PLEASE!!!

After reading other posts, it seems that Serena may have given me this inadvertently. Other people appear to be having the vampire issue but there must be a glitch at work because it isn't progressing. Level 2 has limited perks and far worse cons. I realize this may be my fault for not keeping more saves to go back to, but this is making the game less fun as it feels like a handicap...what's worse is somehow Serena cured herself and now I can't even choose the vampire lord option...

Really? Nothing from you Bethesda? You had no trouble taking my money for this horrible, glitch riddled expansion, but you won't offer any advice or apologies? The dawnguard DLC has caused so many bugs with the rest of the game that what ever it had to offer on its own has lost all appeal. Worst $20 I ever wasted...
It is amazing how fast you scold us for putting "spoilers" in these forums, but when the software completely fails, you just let us figure it out on our own? Here's a spoiler: DAWNGUARD RUINED THE GAME... You think with an $80 investment, I might receive some kind of support...

Same thing here. As I was playing, I contracted Vampirism and did not know it. I believe it happened while I was rescuing the moth priest . I discovered it much, much later when the sun started to drain my health. It kept telling me that my vampire blood was boiling in the sun.

I went to the Companions and became a werewolf. I went through the quest to kill the silverhand, and after that was over, and I had added 2 points to the werewolf tree, I discovered that I was still a vampire, and had just went into the second stage. So now I am both a vampire and a werewolf.

When I play and have already become a werewolf, I still contract vampirism. But I have also discovered that if you become a vampire, becoming a werewolf does not cure it like it is supposed to. When playing as a werewolf there is no warning that you have contracted vampirism, only that your feeding has caused you to lose some of your powers yet I am 20 feet away from the enemy throwing fireballs at them. I have no yellow eyes, but cannot be in the sun without my blood boiling.

When entering the soul cairn, Serena asked if I wanted to become a vampire or have a piece of my soul taken. Yet I am already a vampire plus I am a werewolf.

This did not happen while testing, and it seems that the more I play, the more bugs I encounter.

I went back to the soul caring to try and recontract vampirism as a possible way to correct the script, and I brought serana so she would again ask me if i wanted to bece a vampire, but I just walked right in. I didn't have to trap soul in a gem or become a vampire. I've come to terms that without an older save to go back to, it is something that is not going to be fixed. It is particularly frustrating now that I am a level 58 because ancient dragons are starting to attack me more frequently and more often than not they breathe fire. I have an armor rating of 583 (which after many combinations of smithing enchantments and potions appears to be the Max for dragon scale), and I still die within 4 or 5 seconds. If they breathe frost, I can literally stand there forever without dying. The last achievement i need to get is to defeat a legendary dragon, but that seems like an impossibility with this glitch...oh well.

yeah I had this bug too. I'm not certain it is connected to Serana, but it is extremely annoying as the only way to cure it is to become a Vampire Lord from Serana and then have Falion cure you. I can't imagine what script is causing this to malfunction in the game, but I find it more than hilarious that one of the key features in this expansion has a horrible glitch in it. Times like this make me wish I was a pc player. I'd bet 10 dollars that they have a fix for this in about 2 weeks or less and it will probably take Bethesda at least 2 months to get all the stuff ironed out in this DLC. Then they can finally get back to fixing what needs to be fixed in the vanilla game. At this point, they really need to make some bold moves about all the issues that have cropped up, or else I hope they see massive losses in sales when they release their next dlc. That means consumers need to be smart enough to not buy it, but I haven't had this much trouble with a Bethesda dlc since I first bought them in Oblivion. Shivering isles was 3 times the size of the dlc we got here and I never ran into a glitch in my two playthroughs of it. Same can be said for all of Fallout 3's dlc.

This just gets under my skin so badly...

I know what you mean. If they come out with another DLC, am I going to be stuck with this forever? This is the first time I have ever posted to a forum, but that is because I feel so invested in this game, both in time and money...I wish they would at least tell us if theyre going to do something about it or if I'm SOL, either way it would be nice to know
