Vampire and Werewolf at the Same Time

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:37 am

Do not know if this has been reported, but today as I was playing, I contracted Vampirism and did not know it. I was rescuing the moth priest when it happened. I discovered it much later when the sun started to drain my health. It kept telling me that my vampire blood was boiling in the sun.

I went to the Companions and became a werewolf. I went through the quest to kill the silverhand, and after that was over, and I had added 2 points to the werewolf tree, I dixcovered that I was still a vampire, and had just went into the second stage. So now I am both a vampire and a werewolf.

When I play and have already become a werewolf, I do not contract vampirism. But I have discovered that if you become a vampire, becoming a werewolf does not cure it like it is supposed to.

Has anyone else had this problem??

I've only heard of this happening one other time. Luckily though, there's a way to cure your vampirism. That is if you want it cured. I can supply a link to the wiki page regarding the quest for it if you're interested.

I am a level 67 Imperial werewolf ( XBOX360). In three different quests to kill vampires, I have become a vampire, when attacked by another vampire. Not the disease that can be cured with a potion or a blessing, I'm talking a full vampire! Active effects bonuses to sneak and destruction with the weakness to fire. I thought It was crazy at first, maybe I contracted the disease and didn't realize it. Reloaded the prior save, checked active effects, no vampire or disease. Get attacked by vampire again, message on screen about weakness to fire! what gives?? I completed the entire DG main quest without this happening, now that I'm doing the " go kill this master vampire in this place" quests, It's every single time, become vampire, reload, rinse and repeat. Oh, the insanity!

Know what you mean. When i turned a vampire, there was no "yellow" eyes. Went to the compaions to become a werewolf, did that, and was still a vampire will no yellow eyes, still getting th message "Your vampire boils in the sun." Went to do the quest to cure the vampire in me, and could not do it because I was not a full-blown vampire. So for a while I played as both vampire and werewolf. I could change into a werewolf but not the vampire lord for I had not gotten that far in the Dawnguard quest.

Funny that when I was testing DG, I had some bugs and glitches, like when starting a new game you have to un-install DG until you get the alchemy lab in Breezehome or else you will not be able to get it. Then you can re-install DG and no problem with the alchemy lab. The more I played DG the more the bugs and glitches showed up. Don't know if they really fixed any of the ones that were reported, and believe me, there were at least 25/35 pages .

So I went back a couple of saves and started over. Went straight to the companions and became a werewolf so I would not become a vampire again.

This all seems to be realted to Serana. during combat she hits you with friendly fire and BAM. vampire. I got the notification that I had contracted it, took the potion immediately, but I was instantly a level 2 vampire. Ive read around the internet and noticed that alot of people were having vampire issues since the Daenguard DLC, but we're the only three that appear to have the Halfbreed problem. I have also posted this to countless boards and there doesnt seem to be a solution to this. Falion doesnt recognize me as a vampire and the serverity of the affliction does not increse. the only aknowledgment i get from NPC's is during open combat, one of them will occasionally yell "VAMPIRE!". I could care less about any of the pros to vampirism, and honestly, most of the cons are not too much trouble for me...it's the -50% fire resistance that has placed a heavy handicap, particularly when fighting any dragon that doesnt breathe frost

I did a little experiment and let her go and fight all the baddies while I stayed behind. My character was at least 60/70 feet away while watching from afar, and I got the message that my vampric powers had lessened from my feeding. I was no where near anyone or anybody, and had not moved let alone feed. plus I am a werewolf and still a "want-a-be" vampire. I also do not like the fire rating. It did not happen with my 43 level nord archer, but this is my 25 level pure destruction brenton mage. I love DG and all that, but it has got to the point that I am really getting tired of the "bugs and glitches" that have delevoped. It seems like the more I play the more bugs that arise. I wish that I kept the original download that I had for DG. For now, I have un-installed it so I can start a new character and get the alchemy lab in Breezehome. When I am ready I will re-install it. After all. The mage gets 7 new spells, an archer gets Auriel's Bow with special arrows, and a warrior get a new shield. Plus the new armor. I will miss making dragonbone weapons most of all.
