Sick Overseer in First Mission

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:41 am

This has a spoiler.
Spoiler
When you assassinate Campbell and exit into the backyard, one of the overseers is sick and is with two other of his fellow brethren. I played through this mission three times, the first two where he protested that he wasn't sick and was eventually backstabbed his his friends.

However, this time around, I was peering through the window and the sick overseer was pleading for his friends to kill him so that he could end the plague. Does it have to do with the number of people I've killed? The darker the game, the more corrupt the people are?

He's saying if you intervene and stop them from killing him, the sick Overseer will still attack you.

I'm pretty sure it depends on your chaos level
Spoiler
When I did the first playthrough (without killing anyone), he begged his comrade to kill him before he became worse and infected the others, whereupon he was given a painless and merciful death.
When I played a second time (this time killing everything in my path), the others were accusing him of hiding the plague he was carrying while he insisted he was fine. The others then cut him down while he begged for mercy.
So yeah, I guess it depends on your chaos level.

In both of my playthroughs of this level (low chaos) he was asking to be killed.

Low chaos, non-lethal.... he was also asking to be killed. And got his wish (not from me, of course) :)

Low chaos non-lethal here also, he pleaded to be killed, funny thing is when they killed him he disappeared, there was no body. When I knocked out the other two I went back to hide his body and there was no trace of him, I know the game removes unconscious NPCs from the level if left for a period of time, but this was a minute or so tops.

Interesting - when I saw him, my cumulative Chaos level was Low, and he was pretending he wasn't sick while his 'friends' accused him of trying to hide the plague. I just watched while they killed him... and then I killed them. Just to ensure they didn't carry the infection, you understand.

Been through two low chaos, no-kills playthroughs, both times the guy asked his friends to kill him.
On my first lethal, high chaos playthrough, they said he was trying to hide it and put him down like a dog.
Actually, not like a dog. They'd probably get emotional if they had to kill a wolfhound. So, like a rat, then.

I watched as he told them he didn't have the plague and they backstabbed him, but at the end of the mission I had Low chaos.
