Calista's Uncle? (Spoiler)

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:12 pm

There are several trashbins..... but only one, by the entrance to Backyard, is labeled as "safe location".... did you put him
in the right one?

I actually trashed him just in front of the High overseer main front door in one of the trashbin. In my replay, I carried him all the way to the safe location but i dun see any trashbin; just a door to a new area. U mean there's another alternate path to the new area?

What Sylthia said. It's one specific dumpster, the one located right next to the doorway where you leave the area to go meet Samuel in the Back Yard. If you have quest markers on it's labeled as "Safe Location." You don't exit the area carrying the unconscious body, you dump it in the bin right near that doorway. HTH

What?!! Damn it!! I didn't pay attention to my surroundings! I was too nervous getting out of here cuz i ran out of sleeping darts! Ok...i will replay in my 2nd walkthrough. Thanks http://www.gamesas.com/user/532084-dr-maturin/ and http://www.gamesas.com/user/847799-sylthia/

Facing the Overseer building, following the street left leads to a door to Backyard (where you instantly encounter Elsa and her bro
being harassed by guards).... there is a trashbin before you reach the door. I just followed the marker saying "safe location"

EDIT: You're welcome. And thanks for confirming, Doc :)

Don't feel bad, I stashed the Captain's body in the meeting room (!!!) and got all the way to the exit of the area before I realized I still had an incomplete objective. Then I had to make my way all the way back to the meeting room - which had several alert guards walking around by this point - fetch the body, and carry it all the way back to stash it in the dumpster.

This is all after making the quest much harder than it needed to be by knocking out the Captain in the first place.

ETA: No problem, glad to help. After my own runaround I can easily see how someone could get confused here.

Hmmm....i think i went the wrong way. I actually took an alternate path; i make my way to the main lobby where the main door is. But instead of exiting the main door I went to the right where there's another door leading to a new area. Once u entered the new area, u will see an overseer guarding a rooftop right in front of u. I will tried replaying that mission tomorrow

Reloaded, watched him be all WTF Overseer (I swapped the drinks), then just dropped down behind him and knocked him out.

Ah, I should have done this. I jumped down when the guards started attacking him, and finished them off. Instead of thanking me, the bugger starts attacking me! I ran away, and so did he. :D

Very realistically handled, that scene was. Love it.

Can you elaborate on which doorway you're referring to?

I played without objective markers and the doorway I used to go to the backyard was inside the overseer's building. Tried putting Curnow in several different dumpsters but none of them worked.

Thanks!

OK. Facing the Overseer building, there's a road in front of it with guard patrols. Going past the building to the left, it eventually
dead-ends, but there's a door there on the right (when at the dead end) that leads to Backyard. The dumpster is before you reach the door,
on the same side of the road as the door.

I can try to get you a screenshot when I get home.... I'm at work now, sorry if this doesn't help :(

Thanks so much, found it!

Incidentally, what is the reward Callista gives you? She mentioned something about an heirloom, but I didn't receive any runes or bone charms.

If you get Curnow to the proper dumpster he is "saved", and will show up at the Hounds. Callista gives you a rune, Iirc.

I do not know how I accomplished saving the uncle in my ghost/clean hands play-through!..

I entered the room with the table in the middle and the two glasses, from the outside overlook window, and all at once all the people in the room ran out of room, except for one guard, and I was informed that I have saved the uncle.

That's all, after that I entered the secret room and choked the target unconscious and took him to the torture room and branded him and was done with the mission with clean hands and no need to carry the uncle away.

By the way, when I finish a mission, no conscious guard will remain in the whole place, so I had took care of all the guards in the entire area, except from that particular room, before I had entered that room from the window...

I think it's just loot that's worth 100 coins.

Hmmm, that could be right. I don't remember actually. That was a while back in my playthrough. :)

This is exactly how I played that mission. Sleep-darted them both in the drinks room, took Campbell to be branded, got most of the way out, then realized I had to go back and fetch the sleeping Captain Curnow.

As far as the reward, I thought it was a rune, but I can't remember for certain. EDIT: played through again on my High Chaos run, and the reward was a 100-coin-value trinket.
