Vampire or Dawnguard

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:36 am

I am on PS3, therefore I haven't had access to the DLC yet. But when I do get it, I really don't know where to go. What are the benefits of being a Vampire, and what are the benefits of being a Dawnguard? Also, is the crossbow faction specific, or can you get it regardless of which side you choose?

Opinion dependant. I like being the good guy, and loved DG, wasn't overly impressed by vampire questline. Both have perks the other doesn't (crossbow included, can get as a vamp, but hard to get ammo, and cannot get upgrades).

Vampire side gets powerful artifacts that super buff your character..dawngaurd gets special crossbows..vampires can get a crossbow since its given at the very start but not the special ones.

...and IMO

The Dawnguard are the bad guys, they want to wipe out an entire race/species just because they are doing what comes naturally to them, thats like killing every wolf in the world because they kill deer.

Vampires are just misunderstood, some are evil and some are good..and some who shall not be named due to it being a spoiler are flirty and corrupting and tempt you with Vampirism a lot.

Ok, well, the thing I wanted most was the Crossbow. I guess for that I need to go DG so I can get the upgrades and ammo. But the thing is, I'm not an RPer, but I do really get into my character, and I've never been a Stormcloak because I feel like they are racist and I guess in a way the Dawnguard are because they are trying to wipe out the Vampires for, as you said, doing what comes naturally to them. So, I'm stuck.

Also, referring to these "artifacts", what exactly are there, and what kind of 'super buff' do you mean? Does it make the game ridiculously easy?

Finally, how much will this cost on PSN in £?

One ring gives you..

+100 HP and +20 Vampire Lord claw damage..and Khajit claw damage

Other gives you

+100 Magicka and Magicka regen.

Two necklaces that cause bats to attack all enemies near you and other causes you to summon TWO gargoyles rather than one when you unlock that in the VL perk tree.

Dawnguard had to get something of equal value so bethesda gave them the strongest bow in the game (enchanted dwarven crossbow when upgraded to legendary)

Really? Mine doesn't work on any guards at all. I'm level 75. I have kindred mage and hypnotic gaze. What level does the description say vampire seduction works on for you?

Edit: Oops quoted wrong post, not even in the right thread haha

Switching the words around doesn't add freshness.

I have almost all the illusion magic perks except the half cost for master level and dual casting ones because I wanted to save perks for the fifth level of archery's first perk and such.

All I know is, I can use it on guards, bandit marauders, and undead/dremora and automatons (last illusion perk excluding half cost for master)

I may update this post later when I decide to play skyrim with what it says.

Oops quoted wrong post somehow meant to quote the following from the other thread:

Yes.

An example is a higher illusion with perks causes the Vampire's seduction spell..for your normal Vampire form to work on enemy characters and NPCs level 15+ if you have the perks..my guy is lvl 81 and he can do it on any enemy except Maven black briar and dragons for some reason.

Vampire's seduction when casted now allows you to feed on people.

Ok thanks. Odd how mine doesn't work. Going to try it out again later and double check I have all the perks, I would love to be able to feed on my enemies before I kill them.

Hitler done the same thing, yet some people consider him to have been bad. What do you even know about hunting vampires? I bet you've never even seen one!
