I'm confused.

It made no sense before as to why we would be attacked before seeings as the only real difference was our skin being Pale, now we have glowing eyes and a large scar from our chin to nose and they don't attack us?

Gameplay my friend gameplay. We look like that because people would complain if it didn't change our looks, so they have to. But in the real in-game lore version(books and what not) I'm guessing there would be some Glamor to make it so Mortals can't see your different appearance, or it wouldn't change that much until you haven't fed for awhile.

Maybe glowing eyes and a scar is not enough to tip them off, you do know you can have your eyes either completely white or black right? the latter is not normal either but no one cares, maybe they think because you're the dragonborn your eyes are supposed to be like that but who knows? like the above said, gameplay. I am glad about the new face change though I would prefer the bat-like version that npcs have.

My Khajit has huge fangs now and no one really cares, it seemed dumb to me so I started to wear a mask.
