How did you neutralize the Lord Regent?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:57 am

I on the other hand use the machine to talk with the Lord Regent, and then revealed myself. Had him scurrying to his safe room. In another playthrough broadcasted his confession. Had him arrested.

I knocked him out in his bedroom and then dropped him down a flight of stairs.

I knocked out so many guards on the way to him, you couldn't hear for all the snoring. When I got to his bedroom, I used a sleep dart on him and then went on and did the broadcast. I've never seen the safe room so will try to do something different on the next playthrough.

Broadcast his confession and then watched him get arrested and taken away by the guards.

Yeah, same. Well, the first time in any case, http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/541815760759340741/FA55686294405CB6E5A95D241ED48D9998FD646D/.

That's a *nice* piano. Is it a Steinway & Sons Model Z? The Regent has exquisite tastes! ;)

That's probably the piano of the late Empress!
Corvo obviously wanted the Lord Regent to KNOW why he came to him. "You STOLE my piano, you poor sob! Now feel the wrath of a thousand strings hammered at the same time!"
We can clearly see blood spurting from the Lord Regent's ears (ok that his neck, let's pretend, kay? :P)

On topic, I broadcasted the confession without him even noticing I was here.. I think if the bodies physics were as "non-realistic" in Dishonored than in Skyrim, I'd get a lot more of fun. In Skyrim, I always felt the urge to throw the bodies down the waterfalls, empale them on pointy bloody spikes, drag them to the most visible place, for all to see and fear the Dragonborn's name. Guess that's the barbarian setting.
Corvo's much more refined : he just drops bodies in dumpsters or leaves them on tiny little airducts with the hope they will have a pleaaaasant wake-up later on.

First time through, I watched him come out on the balcony with his escort (a dog and an Overseer). As they turned, I blinked over to the balcony, froze time, and quickly took out all of them. Then I blinked back and broadcasted his crimes over the announcement system.

Second time, I went through the front door and saw him talking over that screen to his guards. Wanting to make a grand entrance, I went over and had a little chat with the Lord Regent. He sends tons of guards at me, who I dispatch accordingly. I work my way through his security to his 'bunker,' and give him a fair fight before killing him with the most badass of executions.

Spring Razor in his bedroom. In his conversation with his guards he told them he needed the comfort and security of his actual bedroom. I turned the bedroom into a death-trap with every spring razor in my inventory, then hid on top of his bed and waited. After he died I fired my pistol and lured three guards inside for additional carnage.

Low chaos - snuck in got the "tape" and played it for the world to hear.
High chaos - had to work my way to the safe room as he went there straight away with noone seeing me, but lots of dead people outside because of rewired everything. I then got the "tape" and played it anyway. I also killed the propaganda officer so I could hear Carrie Fisher. I have learned to love the rewired watchtower.

Played the Broadcast and watched as he got arrested... Then, as the guards were carting him off, placed an arrow on the back of that target we call a head.

That sounds merciful !
I mean, avoiding him a miserable life in prison for his crimes by ending his life before the suffering even begins... !

I played the broadcast, watched the arrest, and bounced across the chandeliers as the Regent and guards made their way out to the Tower "lobby". Saw them coming towards the Wall of Light and remembered at the last moment that I had rewired the system. Before I could begin to stealth my way back into the control room the whole convoy got vaporised. Instant reload.

This had me loling for a while. Sounds like an ironic way to end him, when I think of it: Done in by one of the devices used to fortify his stronghold, keep him safe, keep the Citizens and Weepers tucked away.

I only did a low chaos playthrough, but I punished Jasmine's murderer with maximum prejudice. Summoned up some ratties and they gobbled him up like a burrito.
