I have only lived in in Skyrim for a few months. My first close acquaintance was my House Carl, Lidia. She was strong, intelligent and VERY opinionated. She always gave me "attitude" whenever I asked her to carry something for me. I so loved her.

But recently, I purchased some land near a beautiful overlook. I brought her there to see if she would enjoy it. I needed to bring some supplies to build a house and I asked her to carry some for me. WHAT happened???

Lidia has turned into - well, I don't know, I think some would say a "Stepford Wife" - whatever that is. Has the thought of me moving out of our Whiterun home tipped her over the edge? OH! what has happened? Who broke my sweet, strong, sassy Lidia?

Aela Marriage syndrome:


When an NPC's personality (what little there is) changes completely when you marry them, Ironic since it parallels real life, but in this case its just coding than an actual feature.

This made me laugh so hard.

Are you saying Lydia changed for the worse? For me, she practically begged to be my house steward. (;

Try taking her out questing again and see what happens

When you marry someone, you pretty much ruin the character.

Doesn't anyone remember how she used to say "I'm obliged to carry your burdens" with such a condescending attitude. It was only last week.

She finally gained some enthusiasm.. perhaps, she is falling in love with you ?

dude, today a dragon attacked my house, burnt my chickens, cow, horse, and Aela (my steward), and then flew away.

i didn't know skyrim had drive-by's.

What's this? Dragon drive-bys? We're going to need to start a gang to protect our turf.

Poor Lydia. Most of my characters seem to leave her at Dragonsreach. I generally don't use followers, only one of my characters bought Breezehome, and I chose someone else for the Blades the one time I rebuilt them.

Maybe Khajiit will make her his steward. That should make her happy.

we ride around on [censored]ing flying unicorns (speaking of which why aren't unicorns in the game?) breathing fire on all the little dragon b****es and ejaculating in the process....the last bit could've been left out............

I have three characters and throughout all the time between them, I've only used Lydia as a follower once. I just realized that. Shame on me for not utilizing Lydia to her full potential. She just sits in Breezehome all day, drinking up all my mead and eating all my cheese wedges.

Lydia couldn't be happier being my Steward. She seemed so unhappy in Whiterun.
"...Nothing to do but guard the house...He never comes home for longer than a day...And when he does come it's just to forge something over at War Maidens...Guess I'll just sit here and eat bread..."

I came back to gather some items to put on display in the Armory, and she was looking at me like "...C..Can I come too?"
And I was just "Nnngh...Fine...just...keep up with me this time..." Because Lydia is notorious for falling behind.

I get to the house in the Pale and she's like "Oh wow! Can I work here? Please please pleaaassse??""
And now she sounds happier, she's sashaying around Casa De Dragonborn instead of just sitting in my bedroom eating sweetrolls...
She's having the time of her life out there. Like she's actually alive for once.

i also didnt even have to tell my kids and wife to go inside when that dragon came which i thought was cool.

it was like BRRAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGH n i was like "GET THE HE- oh ur already entering in the house. well done."

herthfire has changed Lidias personality she is nice know even if you dont merry her , every question she will answer know without attitude and with different dialog from the one she used before hearthfire

I would have to agree with this. In fact, I think I'm going to do it myself. Granted, she's rollin' with the Blades now. Just for the hell of it.

This is beautiful. Can't wait to get this damn DLC. Might just go ahead and delete ME3 off my Xbox so I can have room on my HDD to d/l it. Leviathan DLC pretty much killed what little desire I had left for the game, anyways.
