So is the DB our enemy for sure?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:39 pm

Is he our enemy with no chance for peace, or might there be a chance to redeem him? I'd like for once to beable choose what happens to my arch enemy. Though I'm in the Army, I know that killing isent always the best choice to resolve things. I'd like to beable to coerce this Dragonborn to my side to maybe be a follower or a powerful ally.

If you cannot predict that our fellow Dragonborn is going to be the end boss, you clearly have far too little experience with gaming, fantasy writing and information anolysis .

I'm not stupid...I know hes going to be the climatic enemy. I'm asking if theres a chance to not kill him. If you played any of the Star wars games like KoTR 1&2 then you would know that theres plenty of Sith who are able to be turned to the Light side. Hell, even Darth Vader who was as bad a Sith as they come was turned before he died.

Also, theres open room for HM to be the end boss, as its clear hes got a hand in this.

Yep he probably is. Which is a shame, I don't really want to kill the guy. Meh whatever.

The prophesy and lore surrounding our dragonborn states fairly clearly that this mofo is going to die.

I highly doubt it. As not only would we be facing him in his own realm, his own reasons for having a hand in it are likely to be as understandable as any given Princes reasons for doing anything. Mortals and the Daedric princes do not operate on the same level, and any attempts to understand their motives would be akin to explaining the flavor of chocolate to a rock.

Nothings written in stone yet.
You are the last dragonborn is something stressed so hard in this game that I cannot see any alternative.

i imagine he is, after all you can't really have someone like him roaming the world causing problems, and i don't see someone with that kind of power content to follow a murder-hobo around skyrim.

Plus how else would we get to wear his sweet robes/mask?

Well, looking back on the common tropes of fantasy...
...Dragonpriest...
...Turned against his mighty gods, turning them into a source of power, no doubt developing a power complex...
...No doubt eager to walk the world again now that his source of power has returned, and considering the ruthlessness and harshness of the world he left behind, I doubt he's open to the suggestion of peaceful negotiation...
...Falls easily into the mold of ancient evil wizard person who's been asleep for thousands upon thousands of years...
...Possibly more than willing to kill you to eat YOUR soul to take your power...because the soul of a dragon is the soul of a dragon...
...The more I think about, the more I am led to believe the Papa Dragonborn is a force that should be put down, for the good of the world.

As for the laughable aspect of him becoming a FOLLOWER of all things...it kind of cheapens what he is. A powerful entity, the very patriarch of what you are, and suddenly you want him reduced to your backpack buddy...
