Dawnguard more equivalent to Tribunal?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:12 am

I know I already had a topic on comparing Dawnguard to Bloodmoon, but now that I think about it these two 'expansions' are really quite similar in terms of structure.

Neither adds a really significant chunk of area to each respective game, but they manage to make the most of it with the quests and exploration.

Both require you to help one side or the other as they both vie for power
Spoiler
Almalexia vs Helseth in Tribunal; Dawnguard vs Vampires in Dawnguard

And lastly, both requires you to travel to an alternate dimension of sorts
Spoiler
Clockwork City in Tribunal and Soul Cairn in Dawnguard

Its way more simmiliar to fallout's "Broken steel'' as it add's more to the base game.

Disagree. Broken steel continues the main quest where dwa guard does not. Think the tribunal comparison fits better.

Heres the more important question,
Is the QUALITY as good as tribunal?

Almalexia vs. Helseth was really nothing in Tribunal, though.

You did each quest for each side if you wanted to, and the plot remained the same. You constantly were forced to do quests for the other side even if you chose against them, simply to progress the plot.

Helseth quests are optional, rather than "opposite". it possibly has more side-quests, however.

I'd say Dawnguard is a fusion of Bloodmoon and Tribunal.

Much better than KOTN and Shivering Isles in my personal opinion.

Bloodmoon added a lot to Morrowind and it was one of the best expansions in the series. Tribunal was also superb in its own right but I would say Dawnguard has more of a resemblance to Tribunal in what it offers and how it offers it.

Now I cannot wait to see the next expansion let's hope its huge with healthy helpings of bug fixes.:)
