I am just an idiot or...

This is just a simple question really. I've been playing a bit with the Creation Kit in the tutorials, and then I decided to create my own building for practice. I was attempting to create a "conical" tower, using the Solitude Interiors SShrineISec01 and SShrineISec02 with the roof pieces of SShrineIRoof01 and SShrineIRoof02...I'll be damned if I can get them to line up, or snap to grid, or anything. The best I can do is "overlap" the roof pieces, and I can't get the wall pieces to line up with each other or them.

This is what it looks like right now, with the various gaps:

Am I missing something? Is there an easier way to do this? Hell, even if I were able to "micro move" things a pixel at a time I could eventually line something up, but I can't even seem to be able to do that!

If someone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

You'll probably have to turn snap to grid/angle of and move them through the properties box, using the up/down arrow on the X, Y, and Z axis/angle.

Ah. Gotcha.

It just seems kind of odd since they worked so hard on this "snap to grid" thing that they would have pieces that should be doing it and can't! I was looking forever for the missing pieces to tie it together, but I couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

What is your current snap to grid setting? You probably need to use a smaller setting for the snap to grid. Drop it to 16 and see if you can make them come together. Some pieces need 16, 8 or even 4 to get them to line up properly. I ususally find 64 and 16 working pretty well for building pieces though.

I found that some of the Solitude pieces were much more picky about the snap to grid value (found under movement in the render window properties). I set mine to 8 when working with them. As for snap to angle try 20 and they should be alright. In one of my rooms the z-rotation values are 280, 340, and 40 and they fit together perfectly.
