Wasting Resources

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:50 am

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet but here goes anyway.

Ok, so far I've had quite a few problems with Hearthfire, mainly system crashes and the occasional graphical glitch, but the one that irks me the most is one where after you have decorated your room(s) at the carpenters workbench and then exited out of the crafting menu to go find more resources, only to return to the carpenters workbench and everything has reset in the menu. Most of the time I catch on to the glitch but a few times I have lost track and accidentally made more than one of something and wasted my resources in the process. This is really annoying because it took me ages to find enough Sabre-Cat teeth and large antlers to make wall decorations.

Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

I've had it too. Sometimes leaving the house and re-entering fixes it for me. Usually just re-entering the menu on the carpenters bench works too, but when it doesnt, I just leave the house.

Love your pic by the way. That thing on Prince of Persia was scary as [censored]!

Really? I haven't had a single crash since I downloaded Hearthfire. Regarding the re-setting thing, I happens to me alot and just exiting the workbench menu and re-entering solves to problem for me.

Haven't had a crash at all, but I've also experienced that.

There's also the bug when talking to your steward where, even after you furnish the entry hall, it'll still be there and he/she will say that you don't have enough gold to furnish it. Not a huge deal, just something to note.

Not so much but I do have the option to add a round table and chair set to the balcony that just won't appear no matter how many ingots I throw at it lol. Never mind there more than enough seats.

Yeah, I guess it is pretty trivial, it's just frustrating when I lose track of my progress.

I wasted a lot of resources making the same things over and over before I realised what was going on, and to cap it off at Lakeview manor, some things I made for the cellar just never showed up. I ended up getting very suspicious of those make this lists, generally if you can find what you are really missing, which is usually a light, the extras will vanish. If you exit and reaccess the work bench sometimes the list will reset, which might get a more realistic list, or get the one item you are actually missing which was not there before.
