Display Cases aren't Usefull anymore

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:54 pm

So before Hearthfire, you could have display cases in your other houses and you could open them and then activate them so that the weapon you are wielding gets neatly placed in the display case. Now, whenever I open a display case in one of my build new houses, you can no longer activate your weapon to be put into the case. I'm wondering if they meant to do this or if it is just a glitch or something they forgot but its really annoying me. I can't even decorate my armory properly now. I would just go through and place items in the display cases myself but they dont stay in. If I leave my house and then come back, they are on the ground somewhere around the case. I just really hope they change/fix this so my house can look even better. Please leave your thoughts on this.

Having the activate option was just a way to make it easy for people, but it limited what you could put in the display case if you used that option. I suppose they thought it was about time to make you start thinking about what you could use display cases for, you do it the hard way now by manually placing your stuff in the display case. You could always do that.

Grabbing was easier in Oblivion. There was no lock-on for the items so you could manipulate them with more elbow room. Now you have to slam items against a wall to get them to rotate right.

...Considering picking things up is buggered since you immediately grab it solely by the bottom of the item, holding it upside down, good luck placing anything.

I'd have to agree - this is probably the only major complaint I have with the DLC. As it stands, manipulating objects to try and place them is excessively tedious and annoying. So in the mean time I'll just stuff my valuables in barrels/chests/safes and leave the display cases empty.
