Werewolf Improvement Idea

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:16 pm

A new way to play as a werewolf, using the ability to Roar, Sniff and Howl. Can be used at all times. How the controls work is listed below.

X= Roar (Fear Spell, start with)

Hold X= Sniff (Detect Life, gained when you get the totem)

Right Bumper = Howl (Summon wolves, gained when you get the totem)

*Must get totems before perks are available in tree.

If you like this concept please vote for it.

Thank you for your time.

So basically a buff that allows for more powers to be used instead of one at a time. The issue with this is they wanted to focus on werewolves as being physically supreme versus vampires with the spell power.

I will agree that werewolves need a buff... most of the perks were rather useless especially to high level characters (I myself am maxed lvl 81). I think they shouldn't change the controls but should make a patch changing one perk to boosting all the totem powers, instead of having it as seperate perks. And replace those perk slots with something like if you eat a heart in battle you gain +25% more physical damage for 30 secs and maybe a perk to reduce or 1/2 damage at a percentage. I honestly thought of 4 "paths to higher level perks" that the seperate totems are useless especially considering only one of three can be equiped.

The more things like this come to surface the more this DLC overall was disappointing. This idea is really half baked... overall it makes werewolf form useful at higher levels instead of being a hinderance. But didn't really add anything unique or new to werewolves besides the ability to summon one. I mean the non-upgraded howls summon 2 wolves which is really only useful versus early enemies (bandits, mudcrabs, etc.), can't fear (not completely sure) guards (which are medium level to low), and O detect life which is really useless since werewolves can't really sneak.

They could just patch the werewolf to switch between predator, fear and hunt howls through the favorites menu the same way vampire lords switch between abilities.

This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the first bits of Vampire Lord gameplay, and noticed they get a separate favorites menu. Honestly, I find that the other two howls to be completely useless when I have to semi-permenantly switch out my fear howl with them. Detect life is a novelty and convenience spell in Skyrim thanks to the compass, and the wolf summon howl has far too long of a cooldown to be used on a regular basis. The fear howl can get some of the gnats off of me, and let me focus on the guys that actually matter, plus it has no cooldown so I can use it to shorten the feeding animation and have a bit of health regen during a fight.

I hope they do revisit a few of the mechanics for werewolves in future DLCs.

The fear howl is the best

The summon wolf howl is pointless, as for some reason they wont attack animals or vampires....absolutely stupid. Whats the point of having a werewolf hunt vampires if my wolf companions wont attack them?!

That would work. Throw in a revert form while your at it.

Switching between predator, fear and hunt through the favorite menu is enough in my opinion. I don't think werewolves also need to be able to switch out of their form at will.

I'm not picky i just want unlimited time and a revert form just like the vampire lord. That would also take away Hircines ring if you think about it though. Oh well just give it a different effect

They should have made it a favorite menu type of system.
