Ive finished the Dawnguard DLC and i now have the option to summon the dragon from the Soul Cairn. But everytime i try it nothing happens. How do you get the shout to work

you need a big open flat spot, if your on a hill or cramped spot it doesn't do anything

I had this problem. Aim your shout at the ground a few feet in front of you and it should work. I did it at the Throat of the World if that's any help

i tried both suggestions and its still not working. has anyone else had this problem or could it be a bug.

have you got all three words unlocked? also like whiteguy1x said you have to have a large flat surface.

i only have the first word unlocked i thought the dragon taught you the other words the more times you summoned him

I forgot how you get his full shout...

I first had to do it in the soul carin and on the ground before I could do it in Skyrim.

I was having that problem as well at first, but finally figured it out. I had to point almost straight down to get it to work.

I summoned him in the heat of battle thinking
So much for that, then...

This or a mani strategy guide, I would hate to miss out on new content I don't know about.

That's nice but they were no where as complete as this when I played through the content. Naving the soul carin was a [censored] when i was trying to find the 3 spell tombs, I swear it took like 4-5 hours to find them plus the shards of the reaper oh and how can I forget the 10 pages of the journal. I had to walk through a glitched wall to get of the last page! Personally I'm going to wait for it to come out on PC before I play it anymore, there will be mods out in a few days after it comes out that fixes most of the issues i have with the content.

If only they told you how to learn Soul Tear because neither of those do any good. I need step by step instructions because I really think getting Soul Tear is broken.
