Massive framerate drop with post processing effects. FIX IT!

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 2:41 pm

The framerate takes huge hit when near smoke or certain types of lightiing. Also when barrels explode and when enemies fire certain projectiles at the player.
Its seems this port suffers from the same problems that rage still has. I am using the latest 12.8 driver and I have disabled catalyst a.i . Please fix this.

I don't have this problem with my system, which is weaker than yours. Are all your 3D options in CCC set to app controlled? I find trying to force things through CCC can lead to problems. Are you trying to run it at 120 FPS through the options in game? Try setting it to 60 if so.

I am running it at 60fps. I have left the catalyst control settings untouched. I have used RadeonPro to disable Catalyst a.i. No change in performance.
The framerate is nice and smooth until I get near smoke or when enemies get close. The framerate drops can be huge or just small stutter. Very annoying when the 8 year old original
on Ultra runs butter smooth. It may be a driver problem. But i am not installing an older driver just for this terrible so called remaster.

That svcks...I'm running it great.

I am also using the 12.8's. The 12.10's should be out soon. Hopefully that will fix it for you.

Nice to hear it . Over at the steam forums there seems to many Ati players suffering from framerate issues. Seems I'm not alone.

It's hard to say these days, with all the many many various hardware, and software environments out there. Some seem to have more problems than others.

I like overbright setting and motion blur effects in this release. Motion blur gives nice natural flow to movement and is more immersive.
Pity they didn't ad more polygons to the models and increase the texture quality. They owe us pc gamers a patch to bring this great into the 21st century.

I seem to have fixed the framerate issue. Do not use the ingame vsync setting. Enable it in catalyst control.

MacNeill, you can enable v-sync for the game using the NVidia control panel.
