Can we change our houses after we build them?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:10 pm

I was told prior to downloading the dlc (i had to wait a few days as i was working away :( ) that we are able to change designs after we have built them. We just don't get the materials back.

I have now decided not to have a bedroom on one house as I have it on the other and now want something different (i was going to make the home into an orphanage until I discovered I'd have to move my spouse into the house) and I want to take the alchemy tower off my Dawnstar home as I am going to make my Morthal home into a mages house so ideally I'd rather it on there.

My problem is I can't find how to start over

Does that mean another house in a different hold or to go back to the Jarl / Jarl's steward and start again?

In a different hold, you can't change a build house as far as I know.

In a different hold. Going back to the jarl doesn't work I believe. At least, I haven't see it happening on YouTube nor have I read about it on a site.

Don't get carried away with yourself thinking that you will have options in this dlc.

Each of the three holds will sell you one plot of land, there was never anything mentioned in the trailer about being a house demolisher or one person wrecking crew, you build it, it is there to stay. It is only in the planning stages you can change your mind.

Unfortunately we cannot change our house once it's been built. There should be an option to renovate or demolish a certain room of the house. That's my only issue with this DLC, everything else has been good enough.

Sadly there is no remodeling option, especially with interior objects. Don't see why we can't remove unnecessary items since the game doesn't show you where the item goes in the first place! I wouldn't have put the workbench and grinder in the armory. It's crowded as it is with all the cabinets.

It should be easy enough for them to code it in, they did do it for the "small house".

Unfortunately, this.
There's little elbow room except denying yourself things by simply not building them.

Drat, drat and double drat.

I've made a couple of mistakes which I wouldn't have done had I known.

Oh well. I've have to suffer it. Still happy with the dlc considering the price and what it does :)
