Placing items.

I haven't got Hearthfire yet (want to, but the mp system is not working for me). Can anybody tell me if Hearthfire added better placements for items, so they don't turn upside down when you pick them up?

I dont think so, I had a hard time with certain items as always.
Also after placing everything and reloading the house it was all scattered everywhere as usual.

A tweaking of the placement coding would be nice. It's like everything spawns in just a little above the surface, and then gravity happens.

Now we can even build homes but not properly place stuff? I usually don't complain and try to see everything positive, but wouldn't Hearthfire have been the best time to give the item placement some love? At least like it was in Oblivion :-/

Absolutely not. It took me over twenty minutes to get the statue of Diabella to stand upright because the grab point is at the bottom. Then with no method of being able to rotate the object while grabbing it make sit harder. Finish it off with the fact because the point at the bottom it moves the statue like three feet away from where you grabbed it, often causing it to immediately drop out of your hands.

It worked fine at release, but then they ruined it. Why gamesas!? Whhhhhyyyyy!?

But Ill fight through it. Just takes a few more hours to do everything, add in having to drop items and leave and go back inside, etc.

I feel your pain, I tried an hour to place a jug from a dawn guard quest on a table. Once I got it my character went to bed only to wake up with it back on the floor? So no real customization all are houses are the same so we can sit out characters down and watch our wife do the same thing and say the same thing while the kids walk backwards in a severe glitch while we wait on the next hopefully much larger DLC. I don't know about everyone else but I love Skyrim very much, it's a magical game and I hopelessly need more content no matter the price. I love the stories and the adventure, Hearthfire needed more content!

It's just as painful as before. Try putting weapons in the case and having it straight, they no longer auto load in there.

In my country scotland the uk if you buy a faulty product from a shop then you can take it back and get a replacement, credit note our a full money refund in some cases. So bethesda what the hell you doing here with this dlc. Its not working right so do I get a refund or what.

And for any of these muppets that seem to think that because the price of the dlc was cheaper than dawnguard it is ok to have a faulty dlc. No it is not. If i or anybody else buys anything it should be in mint condition if it is a brand new product. And Game code is no exception.

No it is still like some ghost have a party in your house and trashes everything you've placed.

And the object always goes to the side you DON'T want it on, usually upside down, and is a hassle to get into place.

i dont bother placing anything anymore after Bethesda changed how an item is picked up and placed.

Before the change I had placed many potions long my shelves in rifton home and other items. Glad I did that before the gravity flip by Bethesda.

Donno if its a bug ? or if it was intended. Either way the change to picking up an object in a house f-cking svcks the goats nuts. Just stuff everything in a barrel it doesnt matter anyway.

There's never an assurance that a game will be without bugs. I got over 500 hours from Skyrim and I'm happy with my purchase. The bugs can be quite annoying, but not worth a refund. A brand new product can be broken, and it depends on the warranty and terms of service the company abides by whether or not you get an actual refund.

I was really surprised when they even adressed "little" technical "details" like compiling options for just the PC version but how can you not notice that everything is held upside down since 1.6 and now even with an add-on that's entirely about building and decorating houses :(

Are there really so few people who bother?

I haven't had this problem at all in Windstad Manor. I wasn't sure if they did something to fix it so I tried. Everything I've placed on shelving, desks, etc are still there. *knocks on wood*
