Quest writing (useless skill, but I'm good at it), magic effect scripting (I'm tolerable at it), and any other scripting (no clue, but I'm trying to learn.)

I'd be interested in making companions and reward content for a dwemer storyline. I've already been working on a few things that would make interesting game features.

Quest writing - I'm new to modding so don't really know how good I am, but I have ideas and am literate
Scripting - I am reasonably good, but not JustinOther
Voice acting - I don't think I have great dramatic talent, but I have a female voice and a decent mike

And I'm willing to try other things when needed :)

I am pretty busy so I cannot help out much. I would recommend creating a list of what you need.
I use to be good at creating textures and grunge maps but I have not done that in almost a decade now and do not have the transport required to get to places that I could aquire the needed resources for a fantasy game.

But I can do some voice acting, I am no pro actor and I do not think I am very talented (being in a student short film) but I am doing voice acting for my own mod.
here is a sample http://epick.org/voicesample.wav
Might be useful so that people do not hear the same voices over and over.

What kind of scale are we talking about? How long will it take for the mod to be complete? These are tough questions to answer, of course, especially without knowing the number of people taking part in this.

I would be interested in this, but I'd really like to finish my current mod and I really haven't got time for working on two mods at a time. In addition, I still have a lot to learn with my current project and it'd be nice to be a bit more confident when building a larger mod like this. Maybe it would be possible to jump in in the middle of the project? (Keeping myself informed of everything before that, of course.)

Anyway, I'd be interested in building dungeons. Why not exteriors as well, but I haven't got much experience on that.

I don't know if the mod will ever be complete, but I think we should try to make it useable as soon as we can, and add things to it in small increments, so that it doesn't feel as though one's work is sinking into the void.

I'm sure it would be, but I think the point is to make a larger mod out of littler contributions. Even a single NPC could be a great addition, if they were interesting. :)

  • Scripting - I'm OK
  • NPC design and packages
  • Quest writing/design
  • Dialogue Writing - not voice acting!
(Oh, but NO dungeons ... I hates dungeons ... I'm not too fond of Interiors, neither! Clutter ... yuk :()

If it ever gets off the ground, let me know; would be fun to do a little piece of a bigger something (if enough people can be found)

I would just like to drop in and say something - Get professional voice actors for the job. Voice acting is incredibly hard and very few can just pick it up and run with it. And a mod can easily be ruined by mediocre/bad voice acting. Not that you would be bad, but most people who go 'eh i have a mic and a voice' generally don't exactly nail the acting. :P

I'll be doing a discussion soon on how to acquire voice talent, and I highly recommend you guys do that for the project. I've gotten several semi professional and professional voice actors in on my project. It's not too hard, and it drives the quality of the mod through the roof. (Well, it at least really helps)

That would be great, of course, and I await your tutorial with interest.

But I personally find it helps to have even mediocre voice acting for the dialogue while I am developing it and changing things - I don't know how easy it is to get professional actors to do this, unpaid? Otherwise, as long as people aren't going to be heartbroken if they're later replaced, I think people who are willing to voice act could be helpful. It would be nice if I didn't have to keep accosting any passing male.

I'm an interior designer first and foremost. But I'm also starting to get the hang of papyrus, at least enough to put together a working quest/level.

I have got my own project in the works, but i am starting to slow down on developing it as i'm waiting to hear some word about the dialogue bug.

So when the project gets to a stage where you know what interiors you need, let me know

Alright, here's what I'm going to suggest. Since we don't want everyone knowing exactly how to do everything in our quests, I think we should start a google group of new e-mail addresses dedicated to this project. That way we can send mass emails to one another easily.

Sounds like a plan mate. A bit further down the line, we could set up a private forum. I'm sure there are a few free ones out there.

You might wanna edit your post a bit, never know when a spam-bot is lurking

The spambots are advanced enough that there are few quickly human comprehensible ways to put up an email address without them figuring it out anyway...

Okay, I've sent an invite to everyone in this thread. I'm bumping this to see if anyone else is interested in working on the group project.
For those who don't know, the project is going to be a new guild that instead of focussing on one particular play style, focuses on story content created by us. There will be multiple mission sets and a new hall and armor specific to the faction. Anyone interested should make a gmail address to be used for the project and PM it to me, and I will add you to the google group.
