Change CK hotkeys

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:51 pm

Ok so I am using a macbook pro to run the creation kit and everything is fine except for one MONSTROUSLY BIG PROBLEM: I have no delete key.
The macbook keyboard only has a bkspc key which does nothing and the 'R' key doesn't delete either. I was wondering if there was perhaps some way to change the hotkeys/reassign them?
Please help this is really bugging me because every time I want to delete something I have to hunt it down in the cell object window thingummy which is an absolute mission :(

Cheers

Obligatory additional Mac comment.

Also a tip; If you select the object that you want to delete, it will be selected in the cell object view window as well, so you can just select it in the render window, then right click on it in the cell view window and say delete. Not as convenient as just hitting a key, but better than searching the whole list. :)

Right, I'd personally leave it like it is. I go as far as remapping my keyboard with AutoHotkey while I'm in the CK so that my Delete and Right Windows keys are swapped. I then keep my Windows keys disabled with my keyboard button so that I can't accidentally delete anything. Then when I know I want to delete things I either do it in the lists or turn on my Windows key and carefully do my deletes. :) Keeps me away from dirty edits, especially with all the stuff that manages to get in the way.

If you accidently delete something you can just 'undo' the action in the Edit section of the top toolbar, or by hitting Control+Z. :)

Still makes it feel "dirty" to me. And, depending, still saves it with my plugin though I never changed anything, leading to ITMs.

Anyway, my point was depending on how cautiously you mod, using only Right Click > Delete may be better.

Oh, you mean when editing vanilla areas. Yeah you don't want to alter things that you don't mean to.
