It should have absolutely been a feature in the new DLC. She is pretty much the best follower in the game now, and judging by the dialogue once you finish the main questline, it obviously seems like your character and Serena are in love. In Bethesda's next patch/update they should totally make this a new feature, along with being able to divorce the wife you already have.

I don't know if I'd want to marry her. I'm pretty sure I could never compare to Molag Bal. I don't want to make it seem like she's "settling" for little ol' me.

Lol! Well, I can't imagine Molag Bal would be an enjoyable partner... I mean, his sphere is dominance, he is probably into some waaaaay too kinky stuff.
