Crossbows and Archery skill.

When are we going to get a patch to fix the crossbow and archery relation. I'm currently level 30 with a elven bow non enchant that does 39 damage and I got enchanted dwarven cross bow that does 65 damage and ignores 50% armor, my archery is at 75 with 4/5 on overdraw , 1/2 steady hand, eagle eye and power shot. my crossbow does considerably less damage then my bow does. IDK if that how it's supposed to go or not, since it makes sense that the crossbow should do more damage but doesn't.

It takes more shots from my crossbow to kill things then it does my bow. I can one shot critical kill mobs with my bow but my crossbow takes 2 - 3 shots. Any idea when this is going to get fixed, I like the cross bow but it feels as if I am attacking mobs with my bare hands.

Take a look at the quality of the bow and crossbow, as well as any upgrades via the dawnguard quests. Supply as much information as possible so that if any Bethesda team members check this thread out they will have every piece of info they need to help solve the problem you are facing.

I am a dunmer with archery as main. rank 78. today i have found that when i fire my bow the arrow only goes about 2 feet and will not damage opponents. I have also noticed that I have vampirism although i have not been bitten only drained by various blooded vampires from the crypt in the first dawn guard task. which i assume that have half completed. what can i do about this??? :drag:

Your crossbow does 65 damage and ignores 50% Armour, but your bow that only does 39 damage, Somehow does more damage.....hm that's weird.

I would say maybe it depends on the arrows you are using, but I really don't think that would change anything in this situation

Are you using just a cross bow? I heard there are more powerful types of crossbows around.

...I heard there are more powerful types of crossbows around.

- Crossbow
- Enhanced Crossbow (Attacks with this crossbow ignore 50% of armor)
- Dwarven Crossbow
- Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow (Attacks with this crossbow ignore 50% of armor)
Note: The standard crossbow and dwarven crossbow have enchanted variations, just like other weapons

I've tried many but have settled on the Enhanced Crossbow. I've enhanced it with smithing, a small fire dmg enchant, and given it a custom name.
I'm seriously enjoying this weapon.

Personal preference nod to the aesthetics of the standard/enhanced.
I don't care for the whole dwarven steampunk look. Just an opinion.
And with my particular smithing perks, the damage difference is negligible.

The only way to know if you'll like them is to practice.
As of now, I see the Enhanced Crossbow finding it's way into almost all my characters' arsenals.

It must be my game or something cause it does little to no damage, as if the archery tree doesn't compliment the cross bow.

My crossbow does much more damage than my regular bows.
I hate to suggest it, but maybe your crossbow is glitched somehow, although I really hope that's not the case. :(
