I've compared each (though let's not get out of hand, they both have full potential to be wonderful and a comparison is merely for fun), and I've come to the conclusion that while I have usually preferred realistic fantasy-settings in the past, settings like Planescape: Torment and Alice in Wonderland, with it's genius-level writing really shows what fantasy is about. Which is metaphors for life and in turn becomes more realistic then the realist of fantasy. It also offers more creative interpretations and original settings.
