I live in hejarchen hall and I want to put stuff on and in my bookshelves and display cases but there is no activated case/bookshelves to put stuff in with out dropping the item and dragging it in??

There should be a bookcase upstairs in the main bedroom that can be activated.

Not 100% sure, but if you really wanted bookcases you might be out of luck unless you got the Library Wing. Also, wasn't clear on this from the OP, but if you want to put stuff besides books on shelves, I'm afraid you're still stuck with drag and drop.

Also, not sure what shelves you're talking about, but if there is an actual bookcase that won't activate, it might just be a glitch. It's been a long time since this happened, but I have had issues with bookcases in the past.
