That's why they were at your house. Once you finish the other places, they would have moved to their proper locations.

Aww, that's so fail. Not only did you kill them for something that was your doing, not only did you wipe out added guardsmen for your property, but you mistook it all for a bug.

I don't mean to laugh in your face, but crikey if that isn't precious. :touched:

So the joke's on me then?

I knew that they were new NPCs... i just don't want those guys anywhere near my family... and i'm not planning to set up home at the other places with my main

I tried (the other places) that, but to manny bugs with the building... but i really think it's weird for those guys to come to Lakeview, when they should guard my other places

I actually have a really sweet system i got the default housecarl at the falkreath house AND i made another housecarl the steward AND my wife is there, so i suited all 3 of them up and they run around protecting the children and the house, they can pretty much destroy anything that shows up

Really? All 3 new housecarls will live/patrol at a single house if you only build one? That is fantastic news. I am definitely doing this.

So, you can have 3 housecarls, 1 steward and your wife (who could be a great warrior like Aela)? Sounds like a small personal army!

Yeah, it does sound sweet to have a smal army, but i don't want any crashes at Lakeview which i never had (thank god) although i have the greenhouse... i first had Rayya & Eola, but changed it to just Rayya as my steward... don't want to many npcs running around that place...

Can anyone confirm if all 3 housecarls will live at the other 2 house locations (Dawnstar and Morthal), if only 1 house is built? Can anyone tell me where the Housecarls go if you tell them to follow you and dismiss them, without having any land bought or houses built. Will they just stay at the Jarl's longhouses?

When they appeared at Lakeview i had the other locations bought, but not fully build... only a small empty house..

BTW i restarted (again) a older save... i think i'll let them live

I tried to get all 3 housecarls to live at my house in Dawnstar, but the two from Morthal and Falkreath just said they would return to the Jarl's Longhouses in their respective cities. I built my house up with all 3 wings before trying. Is there anything else you have to do to get 3 housecarls to live at one house?

I think it was a glitch that they both appeared at Lakeview... that's also why i reload an older save... and after reading that someone had problems with the weapon racks, i leave them out too at Lakeview.... BTW i haven't seen them yet, so it might be a one time thing.

Hmmm...

In hindsight, maybe it was just a glitch. I recently found Valdimar hanging out at Lakeview, even though Winstad has been built. He left soon after I found him and started heading back to Winstad.

If it wasn't a glitch, you might need to build the Small House on the other properties. That's as far as I had built up on the other properties when Valdimar first visited Lakeview.

Yeah, I tried to recreate this twice, once in Dawnstar and once in Falkreath and both times without any success. I am just going to assume it is a glitch, and not a reliable game mechanic. Boy do i wish I could have all 8 of my housecarls living out at my house :(

gregor hangs at at lakeview.. fights with rayya

but if you make those 3 your stewarts they never leave their homes
they only wander about if you make someone else the stewart..

i have done this 4 times now and now i leave them as stewarts
and when they are stewarts they chop wood and mine etc
if you leave them as house carls they walk around instead or take off for places unknown
and i have followed them as well
[valdimar is a mage]
