Oh god I hate them. I hate raiding Dwemer ruins that lead deep down underground where the Charaus dwell because I absolutely hate them. My first experience with one came when I was sneaking through a ruin. I had just stealthily taken out the last Falmer with my bow so I figured I was in the clear. Even when I think I'm clear or not I always stay in sneak mode just in case. Unforunately doing this puts my guard down a bit. I was cruising down an elevated walkway and searching a dark corner in this massive ruin when *bam*, a Charaus bites me from out of no where. It literally scared the hell out of me and I jumped. I've never seen one of these nasty huge centipede looking things before. I kept backing away while shooting arrows at it to keep my distance from it's ugliness and huge mandibles. The damn thing kept chasing me until I finally finished it off. I've hated them ever since and sometimes turn away from certain areas knowing what strangeness I might encounter.

I was devasted when I saw two flying ones recently. I was planning on sneaking right by them but it didn't work. I was in sneak mode and it said I was still hidden but for no reason the two hunters just started cruising at me. So they spotted me and I had to tangle with those nasty things too.

I have a bug phobia in real life but not in Skyrim. As long as I can't feel them idc. And the graphics also aren't goo enough to scare me, at least not like a photo of an actual bug.

I freaking jumped out of my seat when I heard one tore through his cocoon thinking "WHODA WHAT WHERE?" and spammed my attacks until I knew it was dead.

Yeah, I'm an insectophobe.

He didnt build it, he grew it.
If you look closely, youll see that its the remains of a chaurus reaper.
Presumably they molt like butterflies and the reaper is the caterpillar.
*shiver*

What got to me were those huge bugs the Falmer constructed their tents out of.
First time I saw such a tent from afar in the dark I thought it was a live bug.

Haha I thought that too. Approached very warily, sword drawn, waiting for it to spring to life. When it didn't I had a poke round inside, then just before I moved on I gave it an experimental whack on the leg, just to make sure.

I can tell which draugr are going to spring to life, but I have yet to spot the telltale signs on the chaurus cocoons...

I think it's an awesome addition, especially cause they're in the old ruins too. Plus the fact that they grow out of the dead chaurus

Mhmm, I agree with the sentiments above about disliking them. I must admit though, up until now I've only fought fledglings, so I can't say what the grown ones are like.

You know what I do hate though?

A bloody loading screen introduced me to them, instead of a first hand encounter. What the hell is up with that?

I just saw a tent made out of a "HUGE" and when i mean "HUGE" i mean really "HUGE" Chaurus Reaper shell it was [censored]ign disgusting. From afar i though it was a huge Reaper i was like "WTF" then when i sneaked to it i realize it was just a tent. But imagine if the ones that are killed to make tents are freaking huge, how much can these bugs grow??

When I found out they were added I expected to rage quit a lot.I had a bad enough fear of normal chaurus but now flying ones? It's like torture I tell you! Then I realized how overpowered the crossbow is and then the fear was gone.
