Weird but awesome bugglitch in my game. Fire magic boost

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:26 pm

Female Breton, Vampire Lord, level 33

Don't know how, or why, but somehow my FBVL has substantially increases in her fire magic. The novice Flames spell does 27 damage per second with 3 magika cost per second. The other fire spells are upgraded as well but it seems the lower the rank, the better the increase. Now I'm not complaining here as having a nasty flamethrower in each hand is amazing. I'm just trying to figure out how this happened, if others have had it happen and if it can be done intentionally.

Right now her Destruction is 67 with both of the fire increasing perks. Before I put those perks in I had extra fire damage output.

Any ideas?

Did you take the Illusion perk 'Aspect of Fear'?

Due to the perk intense flames fire spells are marked as fear spells. Aspect of Terror increases the level of all fear spells by 10 in destructions case this means damage this works even if you don't take intense flames. Augmented Flames stacks with aspect of terror if taken second. So 8 Base+10 aspect of terror+50%=27

Interesting. I wonder if this stacks also with first becoming a vampire, then picking up the necromage perk, and then picking up Aspect of fear and then terror.

OK thanks. I was completely unaware the Fear perk in Illusion stacked on the fire magic in destruction. This is unexpected to say the least and makes me rethink potential character builds.

Also, are there any similar type effects of cross - skill stacking in the ice magics? While not entirely on subject, is there any way for frost/ice spells to actually slow down enemy movement speed like it does to me?

Thanks for the replies!

Well I'm currently in a tent about a hundred miles from my ps3. So you'll probably need to pester a PC player who can test this more easily using console commands.
