What exactly is added in this DLC?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:31 am

I've played through "Dawnguard" on the Dawnguard side, and although I have yet to complete the quest on the vampire side, it feels like I've experienced everything this DLC has to offer. What I've seen so far has been amazing: a really nice questlline, awesome new weapons, amazing new locations, etc...

However, it still feels like I've missed...something.

Could you please give me some examples of new things (no spoilers) that have been added in Dawnguard, that are not related to the Dawnguard/Vampire questline? New quests (no spoilers)? New features? New random encounters? You can tell me about anything new.

Thanks in advance!

"The Aetherium Wars". Werewolves in the wilderness. Werewolf perk tree. Dragonbone weapons - now we can perk only the light side of Smithing and not miss out on the best weapons. New monsters that can be encountered in areas not related to the DLC (gargoyles in Bloodlet Throne, for example). New alchemy ingredients.

But really... There's only one side quest not related to the main story. Meh.

So far I've come across 2 unrelated quests, darker dungeons and about 5 or 6 new enemies.

Dude go to the Forgotten Vale and look around for anything out of the ordinary. You won't be upset if you do.

The Aetherium wars is a quest and a good one. And it has a random encounter attached to it.

I just downloaded the DLC, been away from the game for a bit - is the ability to make your own arrows (yeah!) something that came with the DLC or an unrelated patch?

I can't say for all Dungeons, but since the dungeon was in Skyrim, and the game apears darker for me at least, I would say I assume they are now. Just don't know 100% yet. Almost got me a bit upset since I am used to being babied and not be able to play hard from Bethesda games. Now I rememeber what games pre-Oblivon were like now. :P

I haven't really noticed the dungeons getting darker to be honest, but I have noticed that if you look at a light source and then look away, everything is much darker for a few seconds, much like what happens in real life when you look at a flashlight then turn away to the darkness.
