How to cause a general panick reaction in NPCs?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:18 am

I've made an effect which caused an electrical explosion and tried to use Cast on the original corpse (which was the caster) to have a Demoralize effect on anyone around it with a Fire and Forget Self-centered area of effect spell. The problem is that this latter effect doesn't seem to work...

...people in Whiterun tend to care only as long as the electrical explosion happens and then show no hint of panick for what's happened.

There's any way to cause a panicked reaction?

Thanks,

Have you set up your demoralize effect for an area effect and also set the area range in the effect on the spell

Have a look at InfluenceConfDownFFAimedArea magic effect.

Thanks...however, I found the issue:

This effect will only work during combat...if no combat is happening, the opponents will only follow their routine...

You could make an L_NavCut collision sphere to place by the actor while they're exploding/getting fried. Surrounding actors will back away as if out of self-preservation.

:(

Thanks Justin, but mmmmh...it's a bit too advanced...I mean...I think to understand that you mean to use an Havok-related element and that Npcs seems to be scripted to be "smart" and avoid collisions, but it's too hard for me to do...I mean...I am not even good at having characters play idle animations! :(
