Sorry if this is a dumb question to all the tech-heads, but how will the Dawnguard DLC integrate with Skyrim?

Is it seamless and its contained within the existing Skyrim world and my current character and history is still in tact?
Or, does your characther leave Skyrim and do all the DG adventures in a place outside of Skyrim?

I've never done a DLC for any game before so it will all be new to me.

Parts of it are in Skyrim whereas other parts are not.

It's just like this. It's seamless.

You may want to hit the "report" button and ask a mod to move you to the Dawnguard forum.

its added to the normal world. so if you have a file already made and play it, Dawngaurd will be in it.

Both. You will discover new caves in Skyrim - even a whole canyon. You'll also travel to an off-shore island, which is a nifty way of creating new worldspace where you still feel like you're in Skyrim. Then of course there's that one place that's not in Skyrim at all and obviously shouldn't be... If you read about it, then you know what I mean, if you didn't, then you'll understand soon enough
