OK, I get Hearthfire DLC and roam around Skyrim waiting for a courier to find me. I'm in Windhelm when he finally comes and tells me that I should see the Jarl of Whiterun because he (the Jarl) wants me to add a children's room to Breezehome (which I had already purchased long ago). The courier also states that I should go to the orphanage in Riften to see about adoption.

I go see the Jarl and he says nothing about this. I find the squire and when I say something to him, all he has is adding the children's room (which I purchase). Additional talking does nothing about buying land and such.

I go to Breezehome and the children's room is there in place of the lab. I don't want to talk about adoption right now because I haven't finished the Civil War quests yet. I go back to the squire but he doesn't say anything more about land.

So, I decide to go to Falkreath. I run into the squire there and lo and behold he mentions that there is land available for building a home (now I'm getting some place!). It's called Windstad manor and I trek there.

I find logs, drafting table, treasure chest, workbench, and anvil. I proceed with all that goes into building the first small home - foundation, walls, roof, floors, doors with hinges, making the nails, etc. I even add fencing for animals and fending for a garden plus I even add a workbench for the home.

Once I have completed all this..........I turn around and............................NOTHING!! No house can be found anywhere!

Where's my house?????

If it's on PC, some users in HF PC support subforum mentioned that there's conflicting mod(s) that will cause house elements to be built on the other plots of owned land. So maybe check some of those recent posts. I have not seen this reported in the last month for 360.

Yeah, it's wierd. I went to the Jarl of Dawnstar and he said there was land available. So I bought Heljarchen. I was able to build there to my heart's content; however, when I went to build a smelter there I got a CTD.

I'll see if I can build anywhere else.
