Who else wishes that Heathfire was like this?

Messing around on youtube I found this video on Skyrim mods. Being a console plebe, I found it interesting to see. I was impressed especially by the house mod at the beggining.

Honestly, I find that there's plenty of stuff that Hearthfire does better, though this one does have its advantages

A look at the interior for those curious console players like myself.

PC players can have both mods and DLC. As a console player I would love a modular themed home I can change around a bit, but I doubt the console players would ever be offered the chance to build one, or at least not ones with so many new additions as this mod. The Xbox 360 is already struggling to keep up with the two DLC's it has, and the PS3 has not got any DLC yet it is struggling that badly to run the game. Oblivions extras were fine, just give me the whole place already built. They can offer multiple houses, instead of a house we can remodel, I would not complain.

I was happy enough with Hearthfire, although the houses respawning all the junk after you have left them for 10 days ruins it a bit for home decorators, there is still enough there to make it well worth the money, and worth the time put into building the houses. But something different that actually behaves like a player home and never respawns what you remove would be nice.

You're joking right??? You do of course realize the devs got the inspiration for Hearthfire from both this mod and the Adoption mod?

edit: and when Hearthfire is finally released for the PC, both of these mods are going to be far superior. In particular, the Adoption mod's creator is waiting on Hearthfire's release to in order to update the adoption features and other stuff in that mod.

I really liked Build Your Own Home until I started working on my own mod which far surpasses it in my opinion.

That looks awesome. So, does that conflict with Hearthfire or Build you own Home?

I think you only need a low spec pc anyway from all the supposedly high spec mod vids I've watched of skyrim. But I like skyrim on the telly rather than a monitor so not to bothered at the end of the day. I'll stick with the egg box 360 version.

Resources :D

And before saying "but anyways, that thing has already been done!"...maybe, but it's up to the mods' author to allow to use his system on other mods or not, while HF is "free to use" in that matter.

Even if I had Skyrim for PC, I'd buy it for adoption alone.
From what they've showcased of the adoption mod for Skyrim, Hearthfire blows it out of the water.

So I think it's pretty obvious that you aren't interested in Hearthfire. Why not just say that and be done with it?

Nope, the first thing I did when I got Hearthfire was to build a totally empty but fully upgraded (structurally) Lakeside Manor and then furnish it using my mod instead of the garbage default method in Hearthfire.

It DOES cause some strangeness with your family members running into furniture. I can't cut the navmesh dynamically, so it's not something I can do anything about, but on the other hand, it's nothing you can't deal with.

Hearthfire adds the features of several popular mods in one convenient package. Plus it adds a few new things, which I'm happy to have.

Yes,, after seeing both I must say Build your own House is better, I especially love it make a house after my Characterype and even make my Vampire/Dovakiin Laire. Also that I can choose an Aedra/Daedra to worhip and o one.

I also must say Heartfire is for me personal a fail. It's like a sims very lite and less Roleplay. I think they should have make from this homebuilding/adopt idea a much bigger DLC may for 15$, with much more variety, that's mean different architectures and different charateristic style possiblities for Assasins, to Witchs, to the honorable Imperial Warriors and more different childs of different races. For example a magic gifted Witch child for my mage, cause that would be the only reason for him to adopt a child and take care of it.

They are not going to do a much bigger better DLC just for PC players, it is the consoles that set the limits on what they can do for DLC. The PC players can already mod the game, so do not be expecting too much from DLC. The XBox 360 is already struggling a bit with what we have and the PS3 has not yet managed to even get that.

Ehm..... what do you want? Wich of my ideas would overcaast the consoles, more then for example Dawnguard......?
