Possible random vap attk work around...

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:09 am

Picture this--you fast travel to your city after clearing a dungeon to find its over run by vamps....its 12pm day time. Reload your autosave before you traveled to your city;; advance time 12 hours (1) and then fast travel to your city and hopefully the streets will be clear and casuitys will be at a mininum.

(1) obviously with distanced traveled will not always be an equal 12 hours interval..that was just an example. What you would do is a lil math to see how many hours you needed to advance so you can reach your city at the right time.

I haven't tested, but could it work if you fast traveled to your city and/ or leave a building in a city that is attacked to mark the time ;; reload ;; and advance time in the previous place and adjust accordinaly so that when you do try and travel again it will be about midnight and hopefully the towns people are in bed and casuitys can be to a mininum.

I've re-rolled a few times cause I can't decide if I want to join the DG or Vamps and I've had the game about a week or so and just now started to encounter frequent attacks. So I'm wondering if some people just have bad luck starting a new game with more frequent attacks than others.

Also I know dumb questions deserve dumb answers and in hindsight things can be different, lastly you can't please everyone especially when everyone is on such a grand scale....HOWEVER!!!!!! how hard would it be to make a menu option for random dragon / vamp attacks?? Cause honestly sometimes I want to boot up skyrim and be a simple huntsman. Having a dragon appear when I'm lining up my elk kill shot is very rude.

The vampire attacks are randomly spawned so you can't necessarily 'time' them. I've had vampires attack during the day before. Before starting the DG questline get your combat better than 10 at least 15 or 20 for better chances at killing the vampires quicker. That and find out where the vamps spawn and plan accordingly if they are a big problem.

NPC's (most if not all) automatically spawn outside then start heading to their homes so that's out. Some players fast travel to the stables then walk in.
Its possible to be one of the people who have zero vampire raids after the MQ for DG. But then again you may not, its a coin flip so far.

If it was an optional thing there wouldn't be much of a point of 'random' spawn attacks. They randomly spawn to spice up the gaming, so that if you're running around on, say the plains near Rorikstead and a dragon attacks, ok you get a bit of a distraction from your run but it makes things more interesting. (Don't want dragons don't fight the initial dragon at Whiterun, seems people don't get dragons if they avoid that fight)

(Please don't turn this thread into a complaint thread about the vampire attacks, there are far too many already. I'm not saying that this is one I just hope this doesn't turn into one.)

My method for avoiding all attacks is simply not to enter any cities until the Dawnguard quest line is finished. I just did this yesterday and got through the entire DG questline without a single vampire attack in any city. It is a pain in the ass to store stuff you want to sell till later, but it is better than losing NPCs to vamp attacks.

No this will be a thread on how to advoid or lessen said random attacks. Tried my theory last night and yeah npc's spawn outside sometimes. I guess you could blow through the dg mq and sell your stuff at the castles and store your thIngs at the cabin by the guardian stone. However I read apperently doing side quest in the dg will spawn attacks as well even after the dg mq. Can't wait till we get dg on pc so we can console some answers =p.

Jesus christ you SHOULDNT HAVE TO TIPTOE AROUND THE ISSUE LIKE THIS!!!

I know the human mind when its young and still figuring out how the world works has a habit of finding solutions to problems that should be problems in the first place...but once you grow up you realise its all wasted time!

Ive got a toaster that only works on one side...you gonna figure out a solution where I stop it halfway through...pop it...turn the bread around...push the lever down again...then stop it before time so it doesnt burn?

...or just buy another one?

They should just have all the NPCs that die from vamp attacks come back as vampires - the shops will be open at night instead of during the day and people will look a bit creepier, but otherwise everything is pretty much the same.

For the love of....anytime you enter a city at night, you can trigger an attack. If you go into a building (to turn in a quest to Jorrvasker, for example) you can trigger an attack at the Whiterun gates. These are the ones that put NPCs in the greatest danger, because it will take you awhile to get back to the front gates. Vampires also spawn in the same places depending on where you enter whatever city you're in. Learn these places and check them. However, if you're smart and make a save just before you step outside, you can reload. A lot of the time, the attack won't occur the next time you go out. It's really not that [censored] hard to avoid/get around vampire attacks.
