Hey my friends have some questions on my horse stable I built in Falkreath location.... Question: Does anyone else have a problem riding into the stables and can't find but only one position to turn your horse in to dismount? I give plenty of clearance to dismount off shadowmere but the game only lets me get off if she is turned a certain way. Now on the rest of my games I always ride her into the other stables after pushing the other horses out of the way and dismount with no trouble at all?

Also in my first game with Hearthfire I had the man from Falkreath become my steward and I bought my horse from him. He delivered the black horse from Whiterun. I figured the black horse was just because Falkreath had no stables...Question: in my second game of Hearthfire/new character I haven't got a steward yet, so if I become Thane and take on the steward from another city if I buy a horse from them will it be the horse from their city that they came from? Example: Women steward from Riften would she buy the White horse from Riften?

Everyone has the same trouble riding into the stable, the stable you build has more obstructions in it than the city stables you can only get off the horse if the horse is in the stable sidewards and there is enough clearance to get off.

I never really bothered looking at the town horses, each house has its own horse, and it always gets the same horse. All three houses have different coloured horses, and one of my characters owns the Riften horse and all three horses for the Hearthfire houses his horse is still at Riften so I doubt they are taking the town horses even if the are the same colour. There is not that much variety in the Skyrim horses.

Rayya will get you a white (palomino) horse.

ok so what horse does the steward buy if you own the Falkreath house? Also thank you for trying to help me on this issue I already own Shadowmere so I really would love any other horse that wasn't black...

I was going to try to become Thane in Riften to get the women steward from there hoping she would buy a Riften white horse........

It does not matter what steward you choose, the horse will still be the same colour, Rayya is the housecarl for the Falkreath house, sorry I just assumed you would make her steward. The horse for Lakeside will be white, whether you make Rayya steward or not. The only black horse my two characters ever got in 6 playthroughs was at Heljarchen Hall, never had a black one at Lakeview, but maybe that is just the way my game is.


In my game I have always got the following, perhaps yours is different.
Lakview Manor - Palomino
Heljarchen Hall - Black
Windstad Manor - Dappled Grey
