She was a Vampire before Dawnguard as well. They just remade her appearance, due the Vampires looking more different in Dawnguard, more noticeable. You probably didn't know she a vampire before, but now with the remaking of the vampire appearance, it's probably more obvious.

Yeah once dawnguard releases on the PC I am planning to kill her when I play my dawnguard character.

Hm, then iT's not anymore believable, that the most of Solitudes people didn't notice that she is a vampire, if she know haves glowing orange eyes, before the Vampiric apperance could be hidden, but this way the hole thing about her looks know a bit stupid.

But sure, Betheseda didn't think about it.

She's actually a good vampire. She sends you on a quest to kill vampires preying on people. She feeds on the inmates in the Solitude jail.

Yes, but when you talk to her she gets that attitude on.

Once you do the quest associated with her, the attitude goes away.

I wish they kept the vanilla vampires, and the new look was only for npc vamps labeled volkihar. This way you can feel special and standout.

Being the "pinnacle of the species" doesn't feel as special when everyone else also gets to be the pinnacle.

Pretty much, I wish they would of kept her the way she was before since Cyrodillic vampires deal with politics for power so it only would of made sense.

Was it ever outright stated she was a Cyrodillic vampire? If not, a distant aquaintance of the Volkihar makes some sense.

Is it every vampire in the game that is affected? If so I suppose i'll have to wait for a mod that puts most of them back to 'normal', when DG comes to the PC. Or just headcanon that something (whatever triggered the vampire attacks) 'woke up' something deep inside all vampires.

I wish there was a way to stay a 'plain' Vampire and do the Vampire side of the main quest. As there are not too many differences, i've been playing my vampire character as a Cyrodillic. The 'upgrade' is going to be fine and all, but I kind of liked being the understated but highly effective Vampire clan.

It's like playing a Ventrue/Toreador and getting 'upgraded' to a cross between a Tremere and Underworld VL. Very high on the 'wow' factor and useful in a fight, but a completely different feel.

What they did with vampires would be the equivalent to saying your are going to be the mighty all powerful dragon born but so is every single NPC in the game. Oooo scary I feel the chills.
