So here's the story. I'm doing the CoW questline at a relatively low level on expert (I'm level 15 atm) and I get to the part where I have to go through the dwemer ruin, Mzulft. The dwarven spider workers aren't too much of a problem with lightning bolt and my nord hero sword. I get to the part where I normally fight chaurus and come to find out it's a chaurus hunter fledgling. Needless to say, it killed me with 1 or 2 hits.

Now the point of the thread. Regular chaurus are level 12, which is what I thought I'd be fighting. I've looked on the UESP and Elder Scrolls Wiki and couldn't find out what level the hunter fledglings are. Are they a higher or lower level? I have Dawnguard installed and I have the quest "Dawnguard" and the furthest I've gotten is having Durak give me the quest. So that might affect what type of chaurus spawn, I don't know.

Well, have you had a reaper befor that? If so then I think they are higher than that. Chaurus start off small then get chaurus reaper, then butterfly and turn into a hunter. So really it should be more powerful.

It's the first chaurus anything I've encountered on this playthrough. And I think the fledglings are more powerful based off how they come to be. And since I'm level 15, should I be getting monsters levels like 10-20 >.>? I think that's how leveled loot goes so I don't see why it should be different for monsters. The boss draugr I get are scourges which are level 21 so..
