is anybody else finding that these battles are ridiculously difficult because the VL ends up not being able to respond? I find that if I'm hit with vampiric drain especially, my VL just gets beaten back, unable to respond until I use bats to get away or they pause in their attack.

This happens whether I try the ranged or melee attacks.

So you are put in a permanent stagger? Really? I have not had this (I think), I just Drainball them and they could be draining my health but there was no problem.

Yes, that is what it seems to be. I find it very odd. Even more so now if it isn't happening to you. Hmm.
