Lakeview Manor: Wife stands outside

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 12:02 pm

Let me say that this dlc is far more than what I expected, and I am quite impressed thus far. One thing has been irking me, however. My wife Ysolda spends 80% of her time standing outside between the apiary and carpenter's workbench. While she is outdoors her store function is unavailable, and she is risking being injured or killed (we do live in the wilderness). It seems to be a part of her scripting, as she always walks to the same corner. After today's bandit attack (and seeing blood spatter near Ysolda) I am quite concerned.

Has anybody else experienced this, and / or know of a fix?

Ysolda is marked as essential, so you don't really have to worry about her dying.

Unless you build the armory at the Lakeview site, your wife will just twitch in that one spot during daylight hours. I don't think this is the case for the other houses.

Ysolda is essential until you finish the Sanguine quest. That is why I chose to marry her. But I found out that spouses in general are marked as "protected." What this means is that when they go down on one knee enemies will stop atttacking them while they recover their health. Just like your followers. Based on this I decided in the future I would marry someone who can also be a follower so that I can equip them with potions and weapons. Normally I pick Jordis to marry. I like Ysolda's voice acting, but she can't be a follower, whereas Jordis has the same voice actor but can be a follower.
