Monsters as "NPC's"

Hey folks!

I only recently purchased Skyrim, and I'm trying to get a feel for what the creation kit can do. Right now I'm interested in making an expandable mod that (hopefully) will give some of the powerful magical creatures of Skyrim a little bit more flavor.
For now, I was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to make a unique monster with which the player can interact as though it were an NPC. I'm sorry if this question has a very obvious answer, but I'm new to the construction set and I don't know if the rules for "monster actors" are different from those for "person actors". I assume that it would be more time effective to ask a question here and get a detailed and complete answer rather than spend an hour or two tinkering with the construction set and potentially ruin my game. Ultimately, I'm interested in making slight modifications to conjuration in order to make the system more political and "immersive", and potentially to add new functions to spells.

Thanks!

After looking at Paarthunax for a few minutes, it appears that creatures can have dialog just as the NPCs can. I'm not sure if that script attached to him is entirely necessary - it could be to allow him to force greet the player - but give Paarthunax a look in the CK and start from there. Good luck! :)

It's not an Actor thing ... It's a Voice Type thing.

If you give a fox the voice type "Nord Male" then the fox can say any lines in the game that are applicable to the Nord Male Voice Type.

So,

1. clone fox
2. change clone's voice type to nord male

All of the little greetings and wotnot, plus any dialogue lines with a condition ONLY of Nord Male, will be spoken by the fox.

You can add more lines - whole conversations - whatever - by

1. creating a quest
2. adding dialogue to that quest for voice-type == "Nord-Male" and Race == "Fox"

So yeah, you can do what you want ...
